weird thing is i am not fat or anything, the low rise just crushes my bozack

you have to comb it over to the side
Nah he's right. I'm a small guy who happens to have bigger than average...ahem...stuff. And the Weird Guy cut is a bit of a ball buster for me unless I wear them pretty low. Not a deal breaker just a little annoying for a guy who doesn't like to sag.

I'm guessing others have this problem, because I don't think many are buying slim guys for the massive knees and ankles.

From what you are saying, the back rise measurements could be different between the two cuts. For me, the rises feel the same, front and back, on both cuts, but I haven't measured the back rise on either cut yet. I'll do that when I get the chance and post my results here.

I do feel that the Weird Guy fits narrower in the hips than the Slim Guy. On some body types, that could cause the jean to ride lower, which could explain what you have experienced with the WG.

I don't know if anyone is buying Slim Guys for the "massive knees", but I can tell you that I bought mine because of the wider ankle. IMO, the larger leg opening of the Slim Guy looks a lot better with boots like the Alden Indy than the heavily tapered lower leg of the Weird Guy. The Weird Guy looks a lot better with dressier shoes, though.

I own 2 pairs of Slim Guys and 2 pairs of Weird Guys. All 4 pairs are tagged 32. All 4 pairs measure 10.5" in the front rise. Are you getting different rise measurements on your pairs?

On the Naked and Famous website, it states the Weird Guy is "low rise" while the Slim Guy is "regular rise."

That may be the case, but I do believe my measurements are accurate. I measured each pair using the Blue in Green method, from the crotch seam to the top of waistband, and I double-checked each measurement.

Personally, I find both cuts to be ball-bustingly low on the rise in terms of how they feel when I wear them, though like I said before, the WG feels tighter than the Slim Guy in the hips as far as how the top block fits compare.

I'd like to see some actual measurements from other wearers, not just qualitative descriptions from the manufacturer, before I am convinced that I am out of my mind.

Three news pairs

Broken Twill SG 30: runs a little bigger than my first SGs
Duck WG 29: runs a little bigger than other WGs, probably could have sized down
Elephant2 WG 29: glad I stayed TTS, going to be a labor of love to break them in though

"RegularGuy is coming out very soon and will fit like a 1947 Levis 501 classic Americana fit".

This is a quote from Brandon he sent me when I asked him about the cut via email.....these will be my new pair of jeans

It's a straight cut that is looser than any of N&F's current fits. It won't be for all N&F wearers, but it's really good on people who don't have very slim builds.

Ok, I just measured my LHT WGs and SGs, and my Broken Twill SGs. The LHTs are 31 and the BT are 32. I got the same thing on the front rise for all of them using BiG method (10.5). The back rise on the SG LHT is exactly .5" longer than the front rise (14 vs 13.5). My broken twill back rise is 15! The broken twills have been broken in, whereas the LHTs are new. Will rise measurements change that much with wear or do I just have an odd pair?

It's probably a combination of stretching from wear and that fact that the BTs are one tag size larger to start with. I do definitely get some stretching in the seat from wear with any pair of jeans, so it makes sense to me that the back rise would stretch out some.

Do most folks size down from their regular NF size on the Broken Twills?

Edit: My first pair of SGs in raised selvedge took forever to break in. I stayed with the same size, but I can button these up relatively easily from the get go

I was planning on getting some LVC '47s for my next pair because I'm getting really sick of tapered legged, low-rise jeans, but maybe I'll wait and see how this RegularGuy cut fits. Not sure how the quality will compare, but if they're priced like most N&F it may be a nice, cheaper alternative.
