So if the 30's feel perfect for you, yet still a little tight, then I'd go with that. Because "way too tight" sounds like "way too uncomfortable," even after a little stretching. The main stretching comes in the waist imo, and the thighs stretch out slightly.

may be a stupid question, but the tighter something is, won't that mean more stretch than something that isn't squeezing your body?

i guess it might depend on the weight of the fabric

This is true.

The denim usually will stretch as much as it needs to. (within reason)

So in other words if you are a TTS 30, then a 28 will stretch a lot more than a 29 will. Obviously.

I regret not finding an uncomfortably tight pair when I bought my weird guys in grey. Got them and they were snug with difficulty buttoning the top button, now there's too much room to spare in the waist. I always get the best fits on raw jeans if I'm in pain for a week or so, but to each his own.

My weird guys have seemed to stretch more than new cures in the waist with very little wear. No amount of research or help could have prepared me for the waist stretch. I bought them snug where I had to use a little force to button. It is easily rectified though by buying a lower size.

the waist has stretched a lot after just a month of wear; its quite loose now. I can still wear em without a belt, though, due to my over-sized thighs lol.

I've been wearing my pair of weird guy deep indigo for two years already but I recently heard about unbranded, anyone here ever tried them? Not sure if N&F is worth the 150% mark up over them if they're form the same company.

The need to account for stretch probably depends on body type a bit. Once my jeans reach a point on my waist, they don't stretch further.

Definitely same for me. Copped a pair of SG's and they felt real snug initially, But now they are pretty loose. Think I should've sized down.

My weird guys have stretched oddly.

I have a big butt and a tiny waist. But my waist has stretched out more than the butt/hip area. SO I have a loose waist but a tight upper block.

Not really a problem if I wear a belt but still.

+1 on the stretch on the SlimGuys. I think sizing down wouldn't be a bad idea if you can live with stretching it out initially.
