Naked and famous denim - Page 27

I'm no follower of Naked and Famous, but here's the new 21oz exclusive to BiG for those that might be interested:

Looks like a solid product. The royal blue stitching on the super dark blue denim.

Ordered a pair of those^

Also trying to decide between the organic indigos and the lightweight greycast. Both looked really good in Barneys.

What was wrong with the quality?

the denim and hardware just seemed cheap even for low priced denim... the selvage line felt thin as paper too i never had another pair of N&Fs so i cant speak for any other models

I tried on a bunch of them at Barney's last week. Didn't love the green or the grey (which was a surprise because the greys were the ones I went in for.) Didn't like the fit of the slim guys at all. The Weird guy in organic indigo and the lightweight selvage were the two I really liked.

Yeah I went in for the green but its looked too green in person. The weird guys fit me terribly anyways. I ended up sizing up on some skinny guys and the fit was superb.

Just got mine and will try and post pics at some point.

Those images on BiG don't quite give you an idea of how dark they are. They can pretty much pass for black jeans, although I really like how it's just a really dark blue. There is no contrast in the stitching whatsoever. I was hoping for some royal blue accents, but it's just all dark dark dark. But I'm not complaining at all. The fit is incredible and they are heavy as hell. It's like putting on concrete pants. My new KMW 1950s came in today as well and I vastly prefer the N&Fs. Highly recommended.

Just thought i would offer my 2 cents on this. I've owned or currently own jeans from APC, SugarCane, Nudie, Wings + Horns, Dior, Levis and some others. The quality of Naked and Famous is at least on the level of APC and is probably better than Dior (MII) and Nudie. The only jeans in my experience that were clearly better made than N&F were the SuagrCanes. The variety of the denim and the cuts means there is pretty much something for everyone. At our store we sell Indigo Weird Guys for $110 (CAD). If you can show me another brand where i can get Japanese denim, made in N. America, in a modern cut for $100 US, i will be very surprised. Also the line is expanding to include some great shirting and accessories. The only big miss for me is the skinny suit they did. It looks like it's made out of latex. Bottom line for me is that N&F probably represents the best value in denim available right now.

I don't disagree with you. I own a pair indigo weird guys and picked up the 21oz BiG collab weird guys as soon as it was available. It's a great fit on me. My only complaint about the indigo weird guys were that the buttons felt a bit fragile. The BiG collabs do not have that problem at all. N&F seems to be addressing that issue as well since there is a pic in the N&F thread on sufu which show a new type of button that they are using. I also think that it's great denim for the price.

Good point. I forgot to mention that the pair of N&F that i have been wearing lately is the Green Selvedge, which has the new (non-branded) buttons, and they do indeed feel much sturdier than the old ones.
