I am familiar with the stretch/shrink with raw denim coming from a pair of APC, though I hear it isn't as extreme with the N&F which is one of the reasons I am keen to give them a try

I would say both are slimmer than APC - and they have very narrow leg openings!!

Unless you're really thin and have ultra narrow feet(!!), you might be better with the skinny guys!smile.gif

Judging from my experience, the denim that N&F uses stretches, but shrinks after wash. It stretches even more after wash. So it tends to get looser and looser. I owned a pair of APC and it had the same consequence especially on waist.

" just noticed that the weird guys thigh measurements are bigger than other brands' tapered jeans. so I was wondering do they look like carrot fit or something?

My true waist is 31" so I'm aiming at weird size 29 or skinny size 29 also (I can't choose skinny 30 because I prefer 7" opening or lower). FYI the best fit for me are jeans that have 10"-ish thigh. Now the weird guys 29 have 11.35" thigh and the skinnys 29 have 9.75". So I'm confused here, I'm afraid the weird guys would be flarey on my thighs while the skinnys would be too tight on them. My true thigh measurement is 19.5". Could you please advise? Thanks!"

Depends on your build. I had the skinny guys but they proved to be way too tight on my thighs after I picked up kickboxing and stepped up playing soccer. If you're athletic (cyclist, soccer player, basketball etc) and have stronger built thighs I would definitely go for the Weird Guy. Otherwise the Skinny Guy could do the trick. Both give off the same silhouette as long as you're fitting them on to the right body type so don't be too concerned. Weird guys are just an option for tapered jeans for guys who would look ridiculous in a "skinny" fit, the effect is still there.

In either case, way better than any of the APC options I've tried.

I'm actually really skinny. My concern is with the thigh measurement. My thigh circumference is 19.5" and the skinny guy 29 have 9.75" thigh width which is equal to 19.5" of circumference (?) so basically there won't be any room on my thighs, right?? I'm wearing APC NS with 10.2" thigh width and the fit is just right. I guess I should be getting the weird guy.

They stretch anyway. Don't worry much.

That's right there will be a fair amount of stretching. Only issue is the denim (depending on the model) can get pretty weighty. If it's the full weight stuff it may be quite stiff and less comfortable to break in (that's the issue I had anyways).

yeah, probably they'll stretch but this white/black model won't be in my everyday rotation. I'll probably wear them once a month. so it'll take a long time to stretch I guess.

Has anyone got a photo of the wax coated weird guys worn in the wild instead of (optionally abjectly missized) modeled product photos?
