Do we have a date for the Okayama spirits yet? Tossing up between them and the elephants.

I need help.

Just got Weird Guy Sz 29 Soft Selvedge and Slim Guys Sz 29 Soft Selvedge from Gilt.

My waist is 31 in and I ordered size 29 after reading some posts in this thread.

Weird Guy waist fits perfectly, but Slim Guy waist is loose (probably due to rise).

Both jeans are tight in the hip area. Do these jeans stretch much in the hip area?

I'm not sure if I should keep them or return them.

Any feed back will be much appreciated.

Thanks

I'm a larger waist than you (is 31 your actual waist size?) and I've got the WG 29 in Dirty Fades.  When I first got them I couldn't even button all the buttons up.  The waist has stretched approximately an inch, if not more, at this point.  The hips/thighs were snug to begin with and are still fairly snug, but they have definitely loosened up some.

I am not sure how the Dirty Fades compare to the Soft Selvedge as far as stretching goes, but I would almost say that if your WG's waist "fits perfectly" out of the box, you may even want to size down to a 28 (do they make 28s?).  There's pictures of me wearing my WG Dirty Fades earlier in this thread somewhere.

number one looks green-ish. could it be the green selvedge?

#2 is Soft Finish Selvedge, I just got mine from Gilt. Its tighter overall compared to my Lighweight Selvedge in the same waist size, but itll probably stretch out fine.

I really wish Gilt gave a shit about their item descriptions. I would be super pissed if I ended up with some kinda sweatpant fucking fabric.

@Jarlean

Thank you for your help. I gave up and decided to exchange for size 30 on Weird Guys. I am returning the Slim Guys.

After my last experience with LVC 47 sz 29, I don't want to take chances.

How could I get your email? Do you still like tight pants? Do you like my helmut?

I would go your normal WG and SG size on this fabric. In your case I feel 34 is your normal size being what you own in Red Core.

You should measure a denim that fits well and compare to our posted measurements to comfirm your sizing.

I took your advice and went with the 34 WG E3, as I agree, 34 should have probably been the correct size. I got them today, and to my surprise I can button up all the buttons with relative ease. They are definitely snug at the waist when buttoned up, but yet I can easily stretch the waist out with little pressure to fit a finger or two at the waist. I suppose that's the part where you mentioned they have a more comfortable stretch to them. I'm wondering if perhaps I should size down to the 33. Every other aspect of the denim fits well (fits like my other broken in NF denim at 34), but I don't know if I could fit the .5 smaller in the thighs at 33. They fit comfortably right now, minus the stiffness of new denim, just as you said the E3's fit you... I'm afraid that may mean that once I start breaking them in they will get too big. And with the added factor of my attempting to shed a few pounds, I MAY end up losing some size, but I'm not so sure. I'm in a tough situation haha, I'm not sure how much more assistance you can give me; if you have any advice though, please let me know. Thanks for your help so far.

Oh and by the way, I appreciate your posts about new denim and other things, and do not consider them to be "ad-dumps." Keep 'em comin'.

If you're going to lose the fat around your waist I would advise you size down.

FWIW my UB121s shrunk slightly after a soak.
