Really? So it sounds like you sized down 2. I thought power stretch was supposed to have good stretch recovery... How's fit? Are they painted on?

Lol I tried on a pair of power stretch and I had to go up 1-2 for it to fit my waist and thighs. The thighs don't even fit completely but the stretch makes it okay and not so jegging like. The rise is so low that of sits even lower on the hips so a bigger waist fit fine too.

Btw people need to realize your waist size means nothing to finding the right size. None of these jeans were made to fit at your waist except maybe the regular guy. What we need is the measurement at your hips since that's where they sit.

You could be a fat ass with a waist measurement bigger than your hips or be normal with your hips/ass bigger than your waist.

By waist, I actually meant hip measurement where the jeans should sit. So my waist (hip) is around 30. Actual waist would probably be 28-29. According to blueowl, the "waist" is actually larger by 1 size but that would mean nothing though if the legs are too tight, or vice versa? But yeah, that's what I was wondering in terms of the fit, since you had to go up a size or two and seeldoger47 apparently went down 1.5 sizes. For my proportions, I have skinny thighs but slightly large calves. I'm a slim guy but I don't know if going down a tag size would be a good idea since the fabric really makes a difference in fit in terms of tightness it seems? When you tried on the power stretch, did you first try on TTS according to the tag?

Hey guys I have a sizing question. Ordered some N&F Weird Guy selvege chinos in a 30. I am like 5'10'' 165lbs. Pretty much skin tight on me, can't do up the buttons. Do I go up to a 31 or a 32? I usually wear a size 31 waist but these pants feel so much smaller and I almost think I need to order a 32.

N&F Dirty Fade Selvedge

Skinny Guy

Waist 32

3 Months 10 Days; 1 soak prior to wear

I could wear 31 (Left hand twill) but my calves were too large the leg hole. Results in weird knee stretches since the jean can't freely move up and down.

Don't have much fading in the combs at the moment. Also, I have found that soaking the jeans is much better than keeping the starch/maintaining it.

Size up.  Measure your best fitting jeans like so: http://blueowlworkshop.blogspot.com/2010/01/blue-owl-measuring-guide-denim.html

Then compare to sizes on blueowl.us

Chino's don't stretch as much  because it is a different fabric and they tend not to be worn as often as raw denim.

this is my fit pic of a size 32, my waist where a 9.5" rise would it is around 33-33.5.  i usually wear a 29 or 30 in WG and i have 23" thighs.  the power stretch only have 22" thighs but the stretch made it okay.  i guess this is TTS? lol never bought these so iunno if the fabric will stretch.  i wouldnt think so because the elastine should bring it back to original size

What is the fit of Skinny Guys compared to Levis 511? I heard Skinny Guys is pretty TTS so would I have to size down? I'm thinking of getting the left hand twill wash.

As Blazin said above me, Nikwax is by far the best to use. I use it on all my hiking, outdoor, snowboard gear. It's literally a heaven sent compared to the BS we were sold in the past.

Go TTS. Maybe even size up 1, depending.

Interesting... I guess I should've sized down since my legs, especially my thighs are skinnier in comparison. I never got what TTS means..is it supposed to be in relation to the tag size or is the actual measurement of the jeans? For example, someone says go TTS. Do you buy the tag size in true to your hips (where the jean should sit) or do you buy in relation to the actual measured waist of the jean? depending on whether or not you can find a size chart..
