Naked and famous denim - Page 697

I don't like cuffing, I like to wear them straight with a few stacks. Nothing excessive, but I am more on the MC side of life.

I also just got my first pair of raw denim.  Not much for the tight fit, so I got the indigo selvedge but in the regular guy cut.  Haven't seen many pictures of the regular guy but here are mine, cuffed and then uncuffed.

SkinnyGuy Natural Indigo Selvedge worn by a guy named Félix for 2 years every day...

Thanks for all the advice so far.  Will they really stretch -that- much?  I honest don't think I could fit into a 29.  My thighs are pretty big and it already takes some strenuous effort to button these up as is.

Are those the jeans on top? Could you please make a full frontal shot of the Naked & Famous!?

Yeah, the jeans on top. Felix sent me the photo but I don't have his actually jeans. I asked for more photos if possible...

(I think the ones on the bottom are SkinnyGuy Hemp Blend)

I've been reading contradictory things about stretching the upper leg.  Has anyone 26" or larger had any luck with Naked & Famous?

Some people say that if it's unwearable out of the box you should size up because the thighs won't stretch like the waist will, but the other day I found a post in the Misc where a guy had stretched his APC New Standards to 14" upper thigh.  He took a picture of the measurement, so it can be done.  Can't seem to find that post right now.  Should've bookmarked it.

I'm interested in the Weird Guys.  I didn't think they would fit me, but the New Standard upper thigh only goes to 12.5" -- same as Weird Guy 33s -- and my legs are a long way from 28 inches.

I wear 33 pants, so 35 vanity isn't too bad.  Once it stretches out a bit I could go to a tailor.

Do you think Weird Guys in 33 would work for me?

I've had mine on for about 2 months and they are starting to get dirty around the butt. I will use Woolite for Dark Clothes in the tub with warm water and a rag. This shouldn't disturb the white coating to much and turn the dirt loose in the water. That is my plan.

Just a heads up If anyone is looking for a pair of NfxOni Colabs in a size 28. CS to a 30.1 PM me. Worn once, tagged and unsoaked

Alright guys.

I wrote a post earlier asking about Weird Guys.  It's still pending moderator approval, but I've come to the conclusion that it's probably not worth it for me to buy jeans that need tailoring unless I have no other choice.  I'm on to the Regular Guy models now, so please disregard my questions about Weird Guys if they awkwardly pop up under here.

I need some advice about sizing.  I want these jeans to settle at 33" waist and 13" upper thigh.

Regular Guy Size Chart

TAG SIZE 29 30 31 32 33 34 36 38
WAIST 30 31 32 33 34 35 37 39
FRONT RISE 11.13 11.25 11.5 11.6 11.75 11.9 12.13 12.25
UPPER THIGH 12 12.4 12.6 12.9 13 13.4 14 14.25
KNEE 8.9 9.25 9.25 9.6 9.75 9.9 10.4 10.75
LEG OPENING 8.13 8.4 8.5 8.6 8.9 9 9.6 9.9
INSEAM 35.75 35.75 35.75 35.75 35.75 35.75 35.75 35.75

I've read that the smallest waist I can button is ideal.  That would be tag size 30 for me (vanity 31) with two inches of stretch to an ideal waist.  IIRC two inches of waist expansion is pretty standard for N&F.

I'm assuming that either 12.4" or 12.6" would be close enough to go a little over 13" if necessary.

I've never worn raw denim before, so this is based on lurking.  Do you think a 30 will work for me?

I appreciate any feedback.

I think 30 will be too small on you. I suggest size 31.

Thanks! I'll definitely give this one a try. I'm planning on shortening them anyway, so I guess testing out the hems wouldn't be a big deal in case anything goes wrong.

Thanks for the reply, but can you please elaborate?

I've read elsewhere that two inches is about how much stretch I should account for in the waist.  Are you mostly concerned about the thigh?

Is it both?

Does anyone know how much stretch is normal for the waist and the thigh in inches?

I would like to get the waist as close to 33 as possible.  And although .1" isn't a great deal, I would prefer to minimize the size of the leg opening if the thighs will loosen up to 13 eventually.

what size is your waist in other jeans? If you want it to stretch to 33, you should get preferably 31 or 32 just to be sure the waist will be 33

Make sure the thighs fit. That has to be the single most important factor, and I'm sure others will agree with me. If you can't get the denim past your thighs, then how are you going to stretch out the waist? Also, stretching out the thighs means tearing at the inseam stitching and there isn't as much give there as in the waist and seat area. I personally can't wear the skinny guy fit due to how small the thigh is. I can wear a sz29 weird guy no problem in most fabrics (depending on thickness) and I have to size up to a 31 in skinny guy for it to be even comfy in the thighs. And then a sz 31 doesn't even fit right, since sizing up too much just loses the characteristics of the cut.
