it wont shrink much. 0.5 to 1 inch in waist and thigh probably, and will stretch back to how it was before.

use cold water to soak instead of hot.

yes.

no you shouldnt lol.. i dont put anything in front pockets, way too small and tight even when i sized correctly.. but of course i have big thighs too thats why..

Do the grey selvedge and/or black selvedge fade well?

Anyone have fade pictures for either?

I havent seem much fading on the normal black selvedges.  They lighten up slightly after a lot of use, with a lighter black/gray fading at the creases. The deep black, sulphur-dyed ones don't fade at all, even after several washes.  However, eventually all fabric will fade as it is abused and worn down.

I have the grays, and they fade to a lighter shade of gray - sort of like a gray/white at the honeycombs, stacks, and thighs.  It's not really noticeable until like 8 months into wearing them.

Oh lord. My deep indigo WG's which I have been wearing religiously for 6months are already blowing out. Been walking around with a small unnoticeable blowout for 2 weeks now. What do? I don't live in the US so there aren't any places that repair raw denim. Was planning to soak/wash them in a bathtub around this time but not sure if that will make the blow out worse. Should i still wash/soak? attempt to repair myself (mind you I have no experience in sewing) or just do nothing? sigh raw denim problems

Here's a pic, you can't really see it because of my shitty camera but the hole's definitely getting bigger

I won't even worry about it but that's just me, maybe next time size up one if you want to avoid this.

You should wash or at least soak them if you want anyone to touch them, nobody will repair gross dirty jeans.

Bartender, You could do that with the patch or just do it by hand. Also I'm sure there's a tailor in your area that could do that. Just because they're raw doesn't mean you need a specialist. And that's some nice fading...post up some full shots. I've worn mine for 9 months and there's not too much going on mine. For one I'm not too active and I may have soaked too early...not sure if it matters or not.

xdawes23, just do a cold/warm soak. There shouldn't be much shrinkage at all. At least none that wont stretch back out. My deep indigos barely shrunk with the hattest tap water I could get.

yeah, but honestly I could never see myself using a sewing machine. I'll be too afraid to mess up my jeans

my size 34 E2s are a lil big on me ...

im selling em for something more lightweight and that will fit better

I have heard the left hand twills fade REALLY nice but also stretch a little more than others .. should i go 33s or 32s? true waist measurement = 37 ... measurements on pants that fit right 17.5 across at waist

and are there better dyes to go with in your opinions? I want indigo, like brown stitching, and want lighter denim like 11-14oz, also would like to have something that might fade a lil faster than others...

thanks ....

ps - also thinkin bout finally gettin some of the N&F chinos do those stretch out much?

If your true waist is a 37, there is no reason to even mention 32s or 33s.

+1.  I've worn my Deep Indigo's for about 9 months straight now and everything is structurally fine.  I don't know how you put that much stress on the crotch in 6 months.
