Usually 34's in Weird guy are 36" or 36.5", with the latter being the limit before they're too big.

We can measure all 33's and 34's to find one that owuld work. The duck fabric stretches pretty quickly. You will get 1" in the waist and .5" in the after about 10 wears. Sizing down may be OK.

I'm debating picking up a pair of the Weird Guys in Grey Selvedge but am worried they will be too light after they are faded. Does anyone have an pics of them 6 months/1 year in?

Hi, Im new here, but been buying naked and famous for the past 3 years give or take. I have only bought the weird guy cut. The slim guy is quite baggy and I don't think looks good, and I've never really tried on the skinny guy because they seem to be super skinny all the way down. I first had the dark indigo weird guy, great jeans, fading was so so, not great. Next, I bought the left hand twill, Im still wearing these, but I really didn't see any difference in these. If no one would have told you, you'd think they were the regular dark indigo. Wear was about the same. Next, I bought the 21oz , and these are just great. At first, I thought they were unwearable, I could barely move in them, and was tempted to sell them. I kept working, and love them now. The fading has been looking great so far, and really feel like quality. Next, I bought the Japan heritage, and I haven't gotten to wear them much, but so far, I really like the quality. I've had levis, APC, nudie, and the naked and famous just have the best quality I've seen.

I've been wearing mine for 10 months now and I'm very happy with the fade, cut and feel of the fabric after so many months. I haven't washed them either but have been soaked in rain so it brings a bit of character on the thighs.

I was thinking of also trying APCs and Nudies just to compare cuts and quality when a sale comes along.

is it just me or i am i the only one jumping of the naked and famous bandwagon. had 3 different shirts come apart at the seams either when i got them brand new or after a wear or two. for a company stating that they have no gimmicks and laugh at the idea of the idea of 300 dollar jeans, they sell 300 jeans and instead of calling glow in the dark jeans or scented jeans they call them a novelty. same difference if you ask me. naked and famous even gave me a free replacement shirt after seeing how defective their clothing was only for the replacement to fall apart after 5 wears. the stainless steal jeans were over 400 dollars but they still scuff at 300 dollar jeans. maybe made in canada is no better than made in china. 2 local shops had to return around 25% of their merchandise due to defects.naked & famous is just poor quality and not that cheap of a price for the what you are getting.

i do agree to a certain extent that out of 100 people, maybe 10 or less would hv defective products.

but they certainly produce great denim with interesting fabric and at reasonable prices imo.
to produce kevlar denim, 32oz, glow in the dark.. those need research, time, and higher cost.. and hv maybe more complicated process which is fair for n&f to charge more.
if one finds it too expensive, then fair enough, dont have to buy it. just a get a regular deep indigo or left hand twill which really is value for money, then again its my opinion.

This is kinda random but, I have some questions about women's NF denim. A friend of mine is having a hard time finding decent denim that isn't you average cut of the mill designer department store stuff.

She's super tinny 5.3" maybe 100lb but I doubt it, wears a size 24. with a 25" at where the jeans sit at her hips.

Just wanted to know if female posters on here or otherwise could shed some light on either the Skinny Girl, Leggy or what NF calls the Supper Skinny girl, which I could not find on Tate and Yoko. Also anyone know where I can buy these either locally in SF CA area that would carry sizes 23-24?

Thanks in advance may also send the Alex at Tate and Yoko and the guys at NF an email too.

Defects do happen occasionally with any label. 90% of defects that I see are easy to repair that I can usually do in store. I cannot speak that much about shirting as I carry only a limited amount from N&F, but I stock a ton of their denim and out of 100 pairs there might be 2 that would have any type of issue at all. Just saying from my personal experience, I have way more issues with other labels in terms of defects than I do with Naked & Famous, and when I do have an issue it is usually a fix that I can make with a quick phone call or repair myself in few minutes.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience, but I would bet it was limited to just that one product and you simply had bad luck.

Pretty much.  Decent entry level, like APCs, but you get a feel for raw jeans, time to move on.

But they do have something for everyone, which will keep it churning.

All the stuff you named are clearly novelty stuff that come in small runs too Except maybe the glow in the darks since they've come back in different fits.

They've got their basic stuff which include the indigo, deep indigo, lht, natural indigos, black selvedge. Those of which still follow their core views and are at a good price ($135-170 )for entry level denim

Which shirts did you get? I'm heard of the weird native print stuff tearing but never from the dress shirts
post #10032 of 13341
calling it a novelty doesnt mean its not a gimmick either way. 2 native print shirt, pink oxford shirt from last season and a pinstripe denim. so really 4 total shirts falling apart if you cant both native print shirts. just explaining my opinion and my experience. i have moved on to better quality brands that at least stick to a company philosophy. things change but they cant admit that they have themselves. when a button popped off some nep selvedge jeans i had i asked them for a new one and they flat out said no. im not sure if anybody noticed but when you email brandon his wife answers. so 2 week old jeans that a button falls off i couldnt even get a 50 cent button.

ps. i have apc shirts and jeans, never had an issue with any of them. so for the price naked & famous is really good compared to the competition. gitman vintage shirts, same thing. naked & famous is amateur hour

I don't care if you call it novelty or gimmicky...these are literally the ugliest pair of jeans I have ever seen in my life.

Come on N&F...don't lose sight of what made you guys awesome, this shit is just terrible.

Dang people be hating right now. To each his own though. ^those tiger pants appeal to someone^ I like N&F...jut copped a pair of duck selvedge thanks to Jay @BlueOwl

yea theres lot of raw denim out there right now. i just want something that wont fall apart and feel i have found that with momotaro and baldwin. baldwin offered to send me 5 pairs of jeans to try on at home and i keep the ones i like the best and return the remaining 4. also after having a shirt of theres for a couple years it has had no issues. and momotaro speaks for themselves. there was a time when i almost only wore naked and famous but like a lot of people have mentioned its a good entry level or lower price pointed jean. i loved them at one point but have moved on. nothing wrong with people wearing them or choosing not to. but they should get off the idea that they dont use gimmicks or that they laugh at 300 dollar jeans.

http://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/Naked-and-Famous-Denim-WeirdGuy-Stainless-Steel-Selvedge-Jeans-Apparel/prod121850288/ $420

i also had these jeans purchased from gilt for like 79 bucks. so if someone can sell them at 79. there is a very high margin. why are using that high of a margin? im guessing because of the gimmick factor

"a gimmick is a unique or quirky special feature that makes something "stand out" from its contemporaries"

"In marketing, product gimmicks are sometimes considered mere novelties"
