Blue Moon Belgian beer

I tried this beer the other day and the taste is very light and not as bitter
as other hops bears.

It's actually made from wheat. Hence the light taste.

You guys tried it?

I really dislike Blue Moon. It seems like a real love/hate beer.

Never tried it.

This is a joke right? Between the jeans and this, it has to be a joke.

It tastes a little too much like orange juice, even without the orange slice. It's not disgusting but not top pick either. It's also a "Belgian-style" beer brewed by Coors or someone, which kills a bit of the authenticity for me. If you like the citrusy-coriander taste try Hoegaarden, or better yet, Leffe Blonde. Both are readily available and similar in price.

Never said it was the best. Just was wondering if you guys have tried it. I definitely think it's better than Bud light though. Forgive me haganah, I went to a school of douchebaggery and am just detoxing now in my 30s.

Blue Moon is decent for what it is, a Hoegaarden clone. And it is much cheaper.

Is that like 'Made in China'?

I agree on the first part, and Blue Moon is often one of the better beers (sometimes the best) that you can find at your average bar. But it is hardly a Hoegaarden clone. Blue Moon has a slightly thicker texture, Hoegaarden is slightly more bitter and of course Blue Moon is heavier on the orange flavoring. Though the OP might not know the difference, because it sounds like he's had about 6 different kinds of beers in his life (or at least knows nothing about how their made). I also wouldn't penalize Blue Moon it for being an American "Belgian-style" ale (even if Coors is involved), as American microbreweries do a lot of excellent renditions of classic European styles. There are a ton of wheat beers that fall in the same category (Witbier or Witte), my personal favorites being Alligash White and St. Bernardus's White. Ommegang makes a decent one as well.

blue moon in my go to beer in my local pub, the best beer (in my opinion) that they have on tap. as was said above, given the choice at the same price point and availability, I'd go with hoegarten, but it is a good domestic beer.

Blue Moon is one of my solid fall-back beers. Their winter special was really good.

Blue Moon is just ok. It is often the best beer some places have on tap. I avoid it when I can but do get a taste for it at times. I tried their winter brew and hated it. It was way too sweet for me. I plan on giving their spring brew a taste as well. If you like it, then drink it. That's what counts.
