Thanks Manton - I never quite remember the difference between birdseye and nailhead - is it a question of size/proportion of the dots?

Size, shape and placement. Birdseye dots are bigger, rounder, and arranged on the diagonal. Nailhead dots are smaller, squarer, and arranged horizontally/vertically. This is nailhead:
