Meanwhile the knee and below is drastically narrower than those same 47s. Incidentally the waist has also stretched out like a mofo. The cut is kinda weird when sized down like this but i think it looks rather stylish.

Whereabouts are you measuring your "natural waist" ? Thinking about the 5ep myself. I'm sure everyone has different ideas on where to measure themselves

I have this problem. 31 waist with 24 thighs. I havn't bought them yet, but the Samurai 710x looks to be what I'm looking for. Roomy in the top and thighs but still a somewhat slim fit. http://blueingreensoho.com/site/inde...mart&Itemid=28

blackrover, the Baggy Bjorns are at about 5, maybe 6 months in that pic and they have not been washed or soaked.

What is the minimum inseam excess recommended for some nice stacking/honeycombs? I wear a natural inseam of 34" (not reaching the ground), so I'd imagine very minimal stacking material for some of these roomier thigh cut denim which only seem to go up to 34"

Consider these guys: http://www.gussetclothing.com/ USA made, with extra ball room. Their website is a little, uh...patriotic, but I can't complain about the prices or the quality. It's like Levi's was back in the day.

Agreed, I have the same waist/thigh measurements. I have the KMW 1950s (30) and APC Rescues (28). The thighs on the KMWs are a bit tight but not overly restrictive.

I'd also recommend the 5EPxSDZ (30), Nudie AJDS (30) or KMW 2010s (30), all of which have a bit more room in the thighs than the 1950 or Rescue.

I tried the KMW 2010s in 31 and they were significantly tighter in the thigh than I anticipated. I'm waiting on some Rescues in 29, so I'm hoping the thighs on those will stretch out a bit.

Are there any nudies besides the bjorn with a bigger-than-average thigh (but still skinny down low)?

Well, the Bjorn is not made anymore. I find the Ralf to be generous in the thigh, alot more generous than you might expect from a bootcutish jean. I only bought the Bjorn because I thought the Ralf wouldn't give me the necessary thigh size but it wasn't until I tried them on (yea, it's a bitch trying to find the right jean sight unseen) that I realized that they are definitely not a slimmer jean (a 36 waist in the Ralf will easily give 27 inches in the thigh).

I guess the Average Joe will give the thigh space but without the subtle flare at the bottom.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the Nom de Guerre classic. I'd also second R&B RB6, which you can get for under $100 at the Barney's outlent (not selvage, though, afaik).

NDG classic? That jean is pretty tight in the thighs...

Yeah, but they use good denim, and they fit guys with big legs. If you want a nice wash, you have to do it yourself, though.
