I am interested in this 16oz Breanish Tweed...but how is it different from the LL Best of Both Tweed made up years ago (besides the red windowpane)?

If I ordinarily order 2.5 meters for my jackets...do I order the same amount...or more?

Would you make this up? The blue is a deal breaker for me (100% wool, about 13oz).

It is not 16 oz, it is around 11-12 oz. Color, pattern and weight are different from LL tweed. You would need 5 meters as it is single width cloth.

I could get over the fact that it lacks character, but the blue is just too much for me. I'm looking for a jacketing such as this one that you posted:

^ +1 I have a length of the ll houndstooth, but haven't had a chance to have it made up, perhaps for the fall

Marling and Evans have a houndstooth jacketing in about that colour, although smaller in scale.

I am surprised by the price of 590 GBP per metre. Is this a normal price for a cashmere cloth ? What are some other good options for cashmere jacketings ?

Harrisons "Saltire" Cashmere collection of Jacketing is very nice; price about 650 Euros! bigstar[1].gif

Unfortunately I failed to produce a RAF POW fresco cloth with minnis, but LL has a subscription for the "PIUMA" cloth (10 oz fresco) in RAF POW open for this summer. The price will most likely be astronomical compared to the fresco prices being quoted by proxys on SF, most probably the LL special limited edition platinum package with sport seats pricing at 100 gpb/meter. I myself, because I just want to have this as a suit, will be subscribed, and apologize for the failures on my end earlier this year, I know many of you expressed interest in an economical alternative.

It is however good to see the breanish subscription working out.

Manton, why you don't like millionaire cashmere ? I also checked yesterday  HS cashmere fabrics and i definitely prefer millionaire.

I have this sample from Caccioppoli. Not sure how clear it is but there is a subtle red overcheck.

Have you tried the LL fresco before?

To me, it's the polar opposite (within the fresco universe) of Minnis. The Minnis has a crisp feel while the LL is spongy and almost feels elastic.

But then again, that's the Brisa, maybe Piuma is better.
