The teal and purple make the choice a bit daring while remaining perfectly wearable. I'm sure when it's made up people will ask themselves"why didn't I think of that?"

Looks good. This will be a winter-weight version of your uniform jacket. It is a classic looking tweed with a subdued base colour and a bright overcheck. Pretty standard stuff. What part of it is purple? The darkest horizontal line in the image below? It looks brown on the internet, but will look fine in the real world. It is a common colour in tweed.

Of note, I rotated your original image below to show the correct check orientation.

^^^ I recalibrated the image before you rotated it to make the colors more accurate. The bluish lines are actually teal and purple, although they appear more blue under some light and from a distance.

Well, I still like it. I think it'd make a nice fall/winter jacket that'll probably last a lifetime.

Thanks. We'll see how the bank account and the economy loook come autumn! I also have a length of London Lounge beige tweed with light blue overcheck coming in. So, maybe that will get done first. We'll see.

Foo - i think it's a fun fabric. I can see it working well with jeans or khakis with hacking pockets plus a ticket pocket or patch pockets. I don't doubt it'll take a bit to ease into, but if you get the jacket details right for you I'm sure you'll love it.

The LL Shetland? Were it me, I would get the Shetland first. I slightly regret not ordering it, but having a Scabal Shetland in the works, and plans for another, I couldn't really justify it.

MC, I think there is still some left. Write Alden to enquire.

In addition to the Scabal I already have made, and the one on order, and the future one, I also have a Breanish Shetland in my closet waiting to be made. I am drowning in Shetland. Have you had yours made-up yet?

I have the same cloth that I bought from Andrewrogers few months back. I think is a great cloth. The teal and purple overcheck makes it more interesting and far more less subdue then some of the gunclub cloth out there.

As a colorblind guy, I can say that Hardy Alsport cloth would be a nightmare for me. Purple and teal are the two colors that I find most perplexing. I've even tried using a color wheel to coordinate them, but have resolved the problem by largely omitting both from my wardrobe. What would you wear with it, other than gray flannels?

Just to play devil's advocate: If someone posted that he found a $4,000 sportcoat with a purple and teal pattern for $900 at Filene's, would you encourage him to buy it? I suspect a good number of our posters would say it's a false economy.

Here is a plain lovat, maybe a blue lovat, with a teal windowpane. It is, perhaps easier to coordinate than the gunclub, but I really give little thought to the windowpane when using this. Also, it is part of a 3pc suit, so I guess I always have an option for the trousers and waistcoat.
