That looks like a great cloth. It looks like it makes for a very easy to wear sportcoat.

Thanks and hopefully it will look even better made up! It looks more gray in the photos than it really is. I wish the true warmth would come through, but it's a tricky one even in natural light.

Don't see enough cloth in a Barleycorn pattern, it is under appreciated. Makes a great jacket.

I have an Isaia sportscoat in a dark brown/grey barleycorn wool/cashmere blend. It is inlove.gif.

I like it Slew, would love to see an overcoat in that fabric...

I have a raglan topcoat in a deep, dark bottle green and black barleycorn.

Great cloth, Slew. I'm with Bill on this - overcoat rather than sportcoat.

That's the plan. Seems very old school.

Only 2.5 meters were left so no overcoat. That wouldn't really be my style though in this fabric. I do however really like the fabric in this barleycorn overcoat from Alden. I think he said it was an old vintage fabric.

Here's a slightly better photo of the in-real-life color taken in direct sunlight. It's still a bit warmer and softer.

Alden not in a grey coat looks odd.

2.5 meters would yield a topcoat for you.

Duly noted. Don't think that's really "me" though. At least not at this point. I'm not making it up anytime soon though so we'll see how I feel in 8 months before the first fitting!

First fitting of the barleycorn a few months back. I ultimately decided against the flaps.
