If you're sort of sure of what weight and colour fabric you want, they will send you small quantities of swatches for free. The website is actually a great help in that.

Lesser never answer my emails, however, Jodek is good.
I didn't try the new Lesser management, so don't know it yet.
Harrison is good to provide sample, and pretty good customer service, so I think the new Lesser will be the same.

My cloth is by Moxon, not Lesser.

They are extremely friendly.I have dealt many times with Penny, their export manager and she has been a pleasure to deal with.

Any of you guys seen a fabric like this houndstooth? I found it online and apparently it's a pattern from the Royal Family Archives. I like the browns and the blue. Does this fabric exist anywhere? Will I have to create it as a 15oz Cheviot?

looks great. I signed up for LL houndstooth shetland but wouldn't hesitate to replace it with this one.

w.bill may have it
or
why don't you ask
the weaver who made it

if you do it in
a heavy cheviot
it will look different -
you will loose the
fuzzy surface texture
and
the pattern will
be much MOAR defined
- it will look
like princess di's tweed

I agree that it should not be a Cheviot. Shetland would be nicer.

Woodhouse, Carlo Barbera, a Loro Piana, Bonomi (the latter makes only cottons and has some qualities that are among the very best if one is looking for something with a typicall "Italian" finish that is on the rather lavish/silky side,)

Thanks and I was planning on looking at some W. Bill books. The large majority of my tweeds are already shetlands so I was thinking something different for now. Any other type of weave you'd recommend?

So has anyone gotten cloths from Harrison's of Burley? Specifically how do their mohair blends come off vs. Harrisons of Edinburgh Cape Kid? Thanks in advance.

teh fabric in your photo
is a heavier weight
harris tweed

if you wanted to
make it up in another fabric
maybe lambswool...
but it will be difficult
to get yarns with that
varigation in colour
