 I have an overcoat from that, and love the heavy 25oz. cloth. It is, needless to say, nothing like Storm System.

Could anyone help me to identify the cloth ID of the tweed used for the following suit?

IIRC, that's a suit made out of a piece of vintage Reid & Taylor tweed. Something similar is in Bateman Ogden's "Glenhunt" book (550 grams).

Any recommendations for a navy hopsack, preferably 4-500g, to be used as a 3-patch sport jacket? Also trying to find a patterned linen, such as POW

^ I don't have any specific recommendations, but if you're using Rubi, they are reputed to have quite a nice collection of house hopsacks.

 

I would also suggest you tread carefully in the world of patterned linen. I have found linen to provide enough surface interest by itself, and imo the inclusion of a complicated POW pattern would be a bit much.

The LL navy Mistral it's a very versatile cloth, at 500 grams it's not light weight. I have the grey version of this and it's one of my favourite suits.

The first subscriptions was sold out and members on LL are trying to get a reissue of this fabric. I have subscripted to the navy Mistral and hopefully to make a blazer suit from it.

As you can see from these pics, surface interest and a glenplaid POW pattern do not have to be mutually exclusive. This is a top-quality mid-weight linen that I am having woven up by a mill that specialises in linens.

Finally getting around to doing something with this. Summer suit, patch pockets, 1/4 lined. I am going to do another with Minnis Fresco in charcoal and navy. If anybody has any lengths of it they want to sell PM me.
