520 is heavier than the 500 though so you should be fine methinks.

I've worn the 520 in SF. It's fine for the three actual summer days they have there.

I recently received this fantastic London Lounge Shetland made up by Edwin and Matthew DeBoise of Steed. They did an excellent job and honored my request of a one piece back with no front darts to retain a seamless feel for the overchecks. The slight buckling below the blades is just about invisible when the coat is being worn and in motion. Look forward to wearing it in earnest this Fall!

Looks great, did you ever post your NSM jacket?

D,

I like it a lot and I think those folds just add a look of comfort and fullness which I also like. The fabric color works great on you and I think you cannot go wrong buying something from a person named Edwin.

Thanks! Ask and you shall receive. Already had the camera out so why not? Amazing to see the differences between the two houses.

Really beautiful jackets David, thanks for posting. So how do you feel about Steed vs Mina?

Thanks! Two COMPLETELY different animals. Both are soft, but the shoulders, lapels and lengths and all around feel are very different. For Summer jackets Mina is excellent. For Winter jackets Steed is excellent. That's the essence of how I'd break them down.

They are indeed very different looking and I much prefer Edwin's cut between these two.

NSM looks too short to me

When it's unbuttoned as I normally wear the jacket it looks 1/2 inch longer. Mina's jackets are always shorter. You of all people should know that! :^)

They're only shorter if you let her cut it too short ;P

True, but it was shorter at the beginning and I asked her to lengthen it at the basted fitting. I'm fine with the way it turned out. Always nice to have a diversity of styles.

David,
Is Mina's jacket 3 roll 2 or 2.5 roll? I think her jackets look better with 2.5 roll, lapels have a much nicer roll that way and create different visual. Also, on Mina's jacket, sleeves aren't clean, it could be the way the fabric drapes but it is noticeable. I also like the shape of Edwin's pockets more, anyone feel the same way? What would you change on her jackets going forward? It is definitely too short so I assume it would be length? Thanks for posting pictures by the way.
