As someone who's half of family has been wiped out by Nazis, and someone who is very sensitive to promotion of radical ideology of any sort, I fail to understand any wrong doing related to that particular photo.
Other wrong doings I can't comment. My senses of political correctness have been surgically removed - during colonoscopy procedure.

That's still one too many.

I think that posting such a picture (and I haven't seen the post in question) is nature's way of telling you that you're not nearly as smart as you think you are.

I think the picture in question was relating the Prince of Wales with his reported Nazi Sympathies, connected to a large scale check pattern. Presumably, it was an effort to indicate that the Duke was in fact fallable, despite the #menswear sainthood he is generally perceived with.

Just trying to provide some perspective, I have no interest in discussing the merits or injustice of any bans...

What a load of politically correct bullshit. His posts are entertaining because his humour has an edge. People who are offended by what is obviously satire, shouldn't be on a forum for grown-ups.

Sprout2's numerous failed attempts at humor were contributing lots of noise to otherwise great threads. Its one thing if they were remotely amusing but the jokes were so bad. It's about time he was pulled off stage.

That is the point! Picture is not Nazi propaganda, it shows that one man is an imbecile, despite being well dressed, and uses that to make fun of large scale PoW pattern. If you ask me, this is smart humor, and I laughed loudly. Duke, I'm quite sure, didn't share national-socialist ideology, he did share lack of brains with some of its followers.

You might like Sproute's humor or not, but I didn't see anything racist, Nazi, homophobic or whatever

So, what is next? If I say I hate tweed ad make joke about it, I'll be banned? And you will be the judge of whether that joke was good one? Give me a break.

I rarely opine on moderation decisions, but here goes:

@sprout2 was not timed ouf for any one offense, but for an accumulated number of them, to the point where I was getting regular PMs complaining about him, including from guys who are have been on Styleforum for a long time and know the rough and tumble nature of the place, and have never had a bad word to say about any other member, nor any other member about them.

Styleforum is a community.  If one member makes a point of going out of his way to insult people and skirt the line or step on it, just to see what will happen, and is generally, and deliberately disruptive, then he's going to get dinged.  Re. "a sense of humor", the mods are not dumb.  They can distinguish between good natured banter and bare faced attacks.

Put it this way.  If you go into a bar, and are sloppy drunk and spill your drinks on everyone, you will get thrown out, of course.  If you go to other patrons, and pretend that you might spill your drink on them, but then don't, over and over again, you will also get thrown out of the bar.

With that said, let's please get back on topic.

Thanks,

Fok.

Shades of the grayson days.

Just woke up and paid a 2.5k invoice for a shipment of fabric. Living the life over here. Also ordered some from Edmorel who's as always great to work with. Ordering a lot for my trip to HL: some Minnis, Fox, Dugdale, Harrison's Burley, Loro Piana, Colombo, VBC. Bit of everything (they aren't all for me to be clear). Thanks to everyone here for help picking stuff out and writing up experiences/recommendations in the thread.

Sweet Joseph that's a lot of fabric.
