I've got the same one for the same thing, will be interesting to see how we interpret this piece...mine will probably be commissioned next Spring.

nobd, I think it's like a carded (worsted?) flannel. i.e. it's not fuzzy but smooth, yet still soft.

I don't really like this one either.

If you want a green base, there's some interesting ones on bookster tweed's cloth gallery.
