Different members have different preferences for cloth. Birdseye is a good workhorse cloth that sheds wrinkles and doesn't snag too much.

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that he was doing us that service.

I asked the customer to send me the contact info on the person he spoke to at Eurotex because emailing them is a waste of time.

I have been a customer of Ed in the past, so I am not sure why my impression would be 'mistaken'.

I stand corrected. edmorel delivers as always.

I thought the consensus was that Eurotex was uncontactable.

There was a conversation about Eurotex in this thread that went nowhere and fizzled out; thought you were referring to that.

Eurotex is not responsive to email at all, I will be glad if someone can provide a convenient way to communicate with them.

I apologize for cutting into the conversation at this -- late -- point. I only check the site infrequently.
I happen to have with me a swatch of the Glenroyal 44535 as I am currently pondering a Russell check coat (like a hacking jacket, more or less). It is probably a lighter cloth than I would like and, unless I am mistaken, a tweed-like worsted, not a real tweed.

I find the cloth pleasantly substantial, with a dry hand. It appears much darker in the swatch than in your photograph, giving a dark blue / navy impression.

I also have swatches of the P & H Hartwist 32136 (18 oz.) and Minnis Alsport 2404 (19 oz.). The P & H swatch gives a beige / brick, relatively muted, impression, the Alsport a bolder, brownish one. Both have that “bulletproof” hand I like in my tweeds, although not as fierce or indestructible as one could find thirty years ago, alas…

I am expecting some more swatches in the next few days and shall visit my tailor next week. The search continues.

FWIW, Glenroyal 44535 isn't a true Russell check. It's a play off the Prince of Wales check.

P&H Hartwist 32136 is a true Russell check. It's a little lighter/ more beige than 32137, which is darker/ more golden. I find the 32137 version easier to wear, but if you prefer the lighter color, Alsport also has something similar in 2403.

I have a sport coat in the Hartwist 32137. Photos from my tailor:
