Polyester-4-Life :slayer:

No, I generally share DWW's aversion to polyester in tailored clothes.

But there important exceptions imo: hot, humid weather or other harsh conditions, like year-round bicycle commutes or so-called adventure travel. And then I only like blends, not full on polyester.  Although, Uniqlo has some golf pants that felt pretty wool-like...  Their low rise prevented me from trying them on though.

I should also mention that Old Navy (of the Gap) currently is selling 51 linen/49 polyester t-shirts.  So far, I like the fabric.

Really impressed by your collection of poly-blend clothes. You're like the Voxsartoria of polyester.

What's wrong with the standard seer sucker?

Not a goddamn thing, as that picture undoubtedly attests!

Anybody have ANY idea which fabric this might be? If it helps, this is from BnTailor's IG.

Guys,

These days, where are the best places in NYC to find Ready to Wear tweed suits? BB? J. Press? Paul Stuart? APC? My brother in law can use one for an upcoming wedding in Ireland. Thanks in advance!

O'Connell's has the most options, but would need to be ordered online.

Obviously asking Chad would be most efficient, but I enjoy the "guess the fabric game," so here's my try.

It looks a bit like P&H Glenroyal 44535 from HoE:

Meant to follow Murl's advice and tag him in the pic. Unfortunately I don't know how to work Instagram all that well, and popped him a personal message instead.

Well, as they say, it goes down in the DM, so perhaps I'll get my answer there lol.

@dan'l thanks for the input. That's a really nice cloth (like the big Glenroyal plaids), but I believe the cloth pictured on BnTailor's IG is pure linen, or at least a blend. Off the top of my head, the only really patterned linens I can recall seeing are London Lounge's, which is what piqued my curiosity!

It's vintage linen, go a few images back in his instagram and they have a stack of them pictured. W. Bill's instagram account has a post on that image saying "Looks familiar!" and a thumbs up sign.

That's what I found after googling it last night. Now the account is marked as private.

Per Chad, it is a Solbiati linen.

It's an interesting bunch. Surprisingly heavy though (430 gms).

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
