I'm not sure of the composition but its a fairly smooth feeling tweed.

22oz jacketing? I had one of the original LL Best of Both (think it was 20oz). In retrospect, it should have been made into a mid thigh overcoat.

Nice...what are your initial impressions? I was eyeing that one myself...

What are you planning on doing with the Esquire Tweed? I bought a length, but am still looking for inspiration.

I am thinking of getting Gennaro Paone to make me a mid thigh overcoat. The design would probably be based off of a Jeep coat and it will be worn over sport jackets and sometimes a suit.

I really like these twill Fox overcoatings. They are around 20-27 oz, mix of lambswool and Shetland wool. The grey one on the right is lighter in weight and the twill is less prominent than the other two.

Any suggestions on the colour I should go for? Colour in the photo below is pretty close to what they look like in daylight.

Damn. 22 Oz? It didn't feel like 22 Oz. Now I'm a bit worried. I'm having a sportcoat made from my length. Going to be a roaster, even in Boston.....

Grey is the safe choice, but the olive is the best and the one I would make up.

I like the weight of the grey one on the right. Much more wearable. If only Fox made it in olive/fawn!

The two on the left are pretty substantial, but nicer colors IMO. You could get in touch with Alden's Sicilian tailors for a Balmacaan out of one of them, and be all set for a hike across the moors in any nasty weather.

A lifetime's supply of brown sport coats right there.

At 28 oz, it is overkill in most cities.

I don't get the fascination with such heavier weights at the LL. Everything, including the linen is so damn heavy.
