Was the fabric you saw marked Dupioni?

No just 100% Silk

Our official website has been updated. We have added Carlo Riva and Caccioppoli latest 2016 Summer collections.

Of course, the new H Lesser Super150's and Harrisons Frontier are also included.

Enjoy~biggrin.gif

I see you also carry Riva. I'd tried to send a message there but ran out of knowledge of Chinese. frown.gif

What are the prices on Lino Arsenal and Lino Oxford? And is Ascot Chang a customer, or would I order through you to do CMT with them?

Can anyone help me identify the specific fabric used by Fabio Attanasio for this navy blazer?

http://www.thebespokedudes.com/en/looks/642/blazer-edesim

He says it is a W Bill Shetland, but the images I can find on the Harrisons site don't really show much in the way of navy, let alone the pronounced twill that comes across in the images of Fabio's jacket.

Hi All:

I don't know how many of you have seen this thread

http://www.styleforum.net/t/517882/ten-ties-five-jackets-10-5-thread-fall-winter-edition

The idea is to reflect on core pieces in one's F/W wardrobe, focusing on tie and jacket. It's an interesting exercise.

I'm inviting contributions, especially from members in this thread, in part in the hopes of seeing some distinctive cloths. Please do comment on source of cloths etc. if you contribute.

Currently, I'm curating posts, but will open it up sometime this week, I expect. If you have any interest in contributing, I'd warmly welcome it.

PM me if you have questions etc.

While not exactly a twill (actually a mini-herringbone), the color is similar to what you posted:

It's 30034 from the W.Bill Lamlana collection. I have a swatch and it feels very much like Moonbean (I suppose since it is also a wool/angora blend).

I am not aware of anyone currently producing a high quality dupioni silk that would be acceptable for a suit...it seems like it may be lost to the ages. You might have better luck trying to find some vintage stock.

I think there is some dupioni in the Caccioppoli Night and Day book, but I don't know anything about it.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I like that idea. Someone else told me they're thinking about using the silk/ linen for a double breasted suit, which also sounds really good.

Anyone have opinions on the Guabello "One Fifty" and "One Thirty” fabrics? I’m partially interested in the 2494F.103… sharkskin and 2494F.606… glen plaid for the “One Fifty”. I think the numbers for the “One Thirty” for the equivalents are 2458F.100… for sharkskin and 2458F.110... for glen plaid. I don't have a book, so the numbers may be worng, but those are the numbers I have seen online for ordering swatches and was wondering if they would make a good fabric for a suit for special occasions (like parties).

Thanks for all the tips.

How did you order the VBC hopsack, if I may ask? Is there a direct way to order from VBC?

No I just purchased it from the tailor.

Nowadays I rarely CMT unless it is something special.
