There was a really nice cashmere piece at Panico's workshop. I think he had a tweed one as well that I tried on (it was made for someone else), which is what's partly inspiring this purchase.

This is the cashmere version. If I remember correctly, the pattern is herringbone.

Does anyone have first person experience with casentino wool? Would love to hear feedback.

I don't have personal experience, but a friend has one and I have seen it numerous times. It is very very fuzzy irl, so you really need to get used to that 'look'. Other than that, it seems to look ok, as long as you don't opt for the traditional orange coat with a detachable fur collar.

Thanks, Eustace. I was a little afraid of that, but thought maybe LL's 18oz would hold up better. Maybe wishful thinking.

Can I ask what's the weight of your Draper's flannel? Do you find the material looks odd in such a casual garment?

- My Draper's was a 13/14oz. worsted flannel
- The material actually looked quite smart, with more than a few people asking if it was Cucinelli coat (given his penchant for producing grey cashmere sweaters and jackets)

I really like the idea, and I've thought about having one made up myself. But how about something from the Moonbeam range? It's definitely chic, but maybe too light...?

Hm, if you feel like you could get away with a worsted flannel, then I feel a bit more comfortable with the woolen. It's too bad that it doesn't hold up well, but I also don't imagine myself wearing this that often (maybe ten times a year at most?)

They just sent me samples last week.

Does that mean Marling & Evans is still available, or have they spun off? From the look of their website it seems like they've decamped elsewhere and are offering white label textiles.

In the fabrics that are being discussed, I keep thinking that a softly constructed sportcoat in that fabric would be a better alternative.
