Thats £59/metre incl. VAT, you'll hardly get it cheaper than that anywhere.  Get it shipped outside of the EU and you'll get the VAT off too.

Does anybody know if this is a good deal for dormeuil tonik?

This is a better deal but I have no idea where to get it. May be @SeamasterLux can share with us the source.

There were a number of Dormeuil bolts at Au Bonhour des Dames at 1-3, rue Livingstone when I went a few months ago. There a lots of fabric stores in that area and so if it wasn't from that store, perhaps somewhere close.

Anyone have an opinion on  Tonik versus  William Halstead's  Explorer- which is a 60/40 Kid Mohair/wool

Tonik is better in my honest opinion

Hey guys,

I have no issue telling you where to find it but in PM only so send me one.

Not that I want to keep everything for myself but I'm sometimes reluctant to share excellent bargains to EVERYONE. However, I'll send it by PM.

Cheers

Paul

Does anyone have any experience with linen from Drapers? More importantly, how do I get them? My tailor doesn't carry drapers.

Tonik 2000 is a very nice mohair and great at that price, but other than the brand name, it is not exactly what Caine wore. Tonik 2000 is a 2ply mohair, 10.5 oz , 70% worsted, 30% mohair. What Caine wore was some form of the orginal Tonik a 3ply mohair, around 12/13 oz, and around 55% worsted, 45% mohair. The fabrics look, feel and wear quite different.

I'm looking for a blazer cloth.  I already have blazers in fresco and hopsack, so I am looking for something with a pronounced twill (plenty of surface interest).

'Serge-like', but I understand that true serge is very heavy, hot-wearing and hard to source (although correct me if I've got the wrong end of the stick!).  I'm looking for something more in the 12-13 ounce range (or 13-14 ounces at a pinch).

I have a blazer in Lesser 13 oz which has a twill weave. Smiths botany has non-two-tone blue sharkskins which look like a twill to me.

How about a woolen flannel?

How about navy herringbone? Moonbeam bunch has a nice navy blue herringbone that would make a nice coat.
