Silver Gander is closer to 16oz I believe. It is a great bunch and I hope it stays around for a while.

Absent any technical glitches, the Silver Gander bunch is available to see on the Scabal.com website. You have to register but it's fairly painless.

There are a handful of Dorchester patterns that are reminiscent of that look. The others are dead boring in a very clear-headed sort of way.

My two only pieces - both sourced from the Quality Seller so I can't ask for a better cosign than that: Navy worsted with a narrow herringbone:

This will be made up as a single-breasted, 3r2 with ticket and flapped pocket. Depending on the excess material, I'll either get a second pair of pants or a waistcoat (no lapels). Grey worsted flannelish wool:

This will be a double-breasted 6x2 with ticket and flapped pockets.

Thanks. It'll be my first foray into bespoke so I figured I should get the basics down.

I'll be using a local MBT.

First bespoke"”must be exciting, Trini. I wish you the best of results (and I like the fabrics you picked).

Thanks, gents.

and C, I'll probably taking some inspiration from your Carusos and get a brown lining for the grey piece.

Good idea. Just make sure you get NOBD embroidered on it; sans serif, please.

Nothing too exciting here, but I just received my order for J&J Minnis' 7oz Airborne (in light brown) from the very friendly and highly recommended Huddersfield Fine Worsteds.

Made the order since they were being discontinued and being sold at discounted price of £20 per m...

I guess you could call this an Unfunded Liability in the works as it's the next fabric from The London Lounge and my first fabric order from the site. I've been looking for something like it for quite some time now so I'm very excited that Michael is having it made up. Woo-hoo!

The photos are of him wearing his sportcoat made in the test run. I get the impression the more true-to-real-life color is in the first photo. It's a 21oz herringbone donegal tweed in a medium blue with various shades of blue and some gray mixed in throughout.

Is there a list or post that's already been made for cloths that "travel" well for the summer?

21 oz...You're a real man.

I love heavier fabrics a little more every day...

I agree that heavier fabrics generally work better. They hold their shape and can take a beating. I don't mind wearing them inside as a SB. It's the heavy weight DB jackets that are the real scorchers for me!

Heavier fabrics have most depth and are well adapted to my sartorial's preferences.

I like my fabrics from 13oz upwards...
