My thanks to dopey for the inspiration for the thread title. All pics taken in natural light outdoors, so the colors are reasonably true, unless otherwise noted.

PART I: Flannels

14 ounce woolen flannel, color "donkey" (sort of tan/gray/olive; see Portnoy's Shattuck suit; same cloth):

11 ounce worsted flannel, dove gray:

14 ounce woolen flannel, postman blue with dark blue triple check:

13 ounce woolen flannel, charcoal gray chalk stripe (reflection of the sunlight is making this look lighter than it really is):

12/13 worsted flannel. Brown & cream glen plaid with a light blue overcheck (the second pic shows the color a bit better, but it still looks grayer than it really is):

And, just for the hell of it, one tweed. Brown & brown glen plaid with red overcheck:

Seriously. Part of me wishes I hadn't bought any of this. But when the last Huddersfield mill shuts down, and it's impossible to get good, sturdy fabric any more, I will feel differently, and lord my good fortune over the rest of you. Bwaahahahaha!

That glen plaid is stunning Manton!

Love the flannel stripe as well.

Wow, that tripple check and the tweed are particularly lovely. But I remember the donkey as being a bit greener, sort of like grayish moss. Is it just my monitor?

The donkey comes across as being gray on my monitor.

That triple check is the LL cloth, right?

Can you tell us what mills these are from? I'll take 1.5 m. of the 11-oz. dove-gray worsted flannel for some trousers to go with my new corduroy jacket!

Is this just to make people jealous or did you mean to post this in the buying and selling forum?

Come on, you know you can't wear 14oz flannel.

That's got DB 6/4 written all over it. Keep your windows open though in winter.

The donkey flannel is super-sharp. It will make an excellent winter suit.

PART II: Worsteds

3x3 plain weave, probably 10/11 ounces or so. Brown with little flecks of blue, orange, and whatnot. Natural light lightens it two shades, and brings out the flecks. Indoors it looks dark solid. This one is really unique.

p1010987pn8.jpg

10 ounce light gray sharkskin. Super 100s (gasp!). But it has body! I swear!

p1010991pa6.jpg

p1010998yh1.jpg

Medium gray shark, probably 14/15 ounce:

p1010879hh6.jpg

p1010882zz3.jpg

Dark gray shark (it's darker than it looks in this pic). Same weight, weave and mill as above:

p1010999jv7.jpg

p1020007gh3.jpg

Navy with a royal nailhead. 3% silk, which gives it a nice sheen. Will make a great evening DB. (And it's Super 120s. Have at me.):

p1010942vw1.jpg

p1010945pu6.jpg

10/11 ounce tan "Burma shade" (has kind of a putty undertone) gabardine:

p1010948lg4.jpg

p1010952nl4.jpg

11/12 ounce triple dot nailhead, bluegray (sadly, the blue undertone does not show up as well as I would like):

p1010905ik7.jpg

dscn2458vp1.jpg

9/10 ounce charcoal fresco nailhead:

p1010904hw9.jpg

This one does not photograph well. It is a 3x3 dull tan, with a sky blue windowpane, and then a faint cream shadow to the windowpane. It is stunning. 8 ounces.
