Ebay Experiences - Seller ratings - Page 3

Do not deal with Besuited. He committed what I believe are the e-bay unforgiveable sins: 1. he misrepresented the condition of a suit I bought and 2. he ignored my e-mails after I asked him to resolve the issue. If you buy from besuited you are likely looking at a huge hassle - as I had - because his descriptions aren't accurate and he isn't responsive. I bought an Oxxford suit from Besuited that he described as in excellent condition with no visible flaws. When the suit arrived the lining of both pockets was completely torn away from the jacket. There is no way that Besuited could have missed these flaws because he posted a picture of the suit's label with the auction. In addition, one pant's cuff was torn. I spent almost two weeks trying to e-mail Besuited and it wasn't until I filed a paypal complaint that he finally provided a partial refund for the suit. In addition to Besuited, I'd also be weary of Parisvegas. He sells nice items with no reserve that start at $1. The quality, however, is mixed. I"ve received very nice deals from him. On my last transaction, however, I got a shirt from Parisvegas that had three holes in it. Parisvegas never responded to any of my e-mails. With Parisvegas, at least, the prices can be so good that the risk may be worth it.

I wanted to add my two cents regarding EBay sellers Besuited and Parisvegas. Besuited: This seller sells used suits for low prices. I bought an Oxxford suit for $199 (using "Buy it Now") about 5 months ago from them. The suit arrived in like-new condition and was an incredible bargain in my book. I've considered buying a couple of Paul Stuart suits from them - -I ultimately didn't bid on them, but did send emails to Besuited with questions, which were promptly responded to (including one where they sent additional pictues). Parisvegas: This guy is one of my EBay favorites. I must have 15-20 articles of clothing in my closet that I bought from him. A cashmere and wool Luciano Barbera suit, a perfect Chester Barrie suit, multiple pairs of Oxxford slacks (wearing a wool pair today that I got from him for about $60), multiple Borrelli shirts, Zegna shirts, etc. Everything is just super cheap. Bad experiences? Very few -- the Luciano Barbera suit pants showed more wear on the inside than I was expecting; also, I bought a Lorenzini shirt that had an odd two-pocket front that was not clearly visible from his pictures. Overall though, I think Parisvegas should be in the favorites column -- he consistently has great stuff that can be bought for next to nothing.

Just wanted to say that I had the pleasure to purchase 2 beautiful Brioni ties from Renault78law.  The price was right ($40/tie including shipping) and he was quick to answer all of my questions and shipped immediately.  I heartily recommend him as a seller.  I will certainly purchase more goods from him as they become available.

I think I have dealt with every one of A. Harris' recommendations, and they are all 100% top notch. My favorite is probably honest*goods, because that seller occasionally gets things in 42short-- hard to find, but I like the shorter length better than the regulars.

Be careful with volare54. His feedback is almost universally positive but an Armani shirt I received in the mail today (shut up, it was for hanging around) is so fake it makes a Hollywood star seem real. A bad "Giorgio Armani Le Collezioni" label (and I mean bad) mated with a bad copy of an Emporio shirt. That teaches me to bid on items where the pictures aren't the best. But he was Canadian.

I just bought my first suit off of ebay from the seller fashionspluss It was a decent transaction, i got the suit two weeks after i bought it (paid same day with buyitnow). The suit arrived and the packaging was decent, the suit was folded up. The suit also smells kind of weird but i had planned to get it dry cleaned and it was covered in animal hair. I would normally of complained but the HF suit cost me $25 shipped so not a big deal. NOt a great seller but for the price i can't complain.

I've been checking listings on ebay and noticed a number of sellers in Germany. Does anyone have experience in dealing with them?

I have been looking for a while on e-bay for a nice automatic dress watch. Sometimes there are some good deals. What are your experiences with buying of such watches from e-bay (we are talking a few hundred dollars here). How high is the duty here in Canada. Somebody here in Canada could elaborate?.

I recently purchased a pair of Polo jodphur boots from grapevinehill, seller of the famed RLPL alligator shoes.  Communication and service were excellent (provided a USPS tracking number without my asking), and the boots arrived quickly and were as described.  I give grapevinehill my highest recommendation. I have also had very good experiences with blueshoesales, alohaboy072862, hitman-lou, and parisvegas.

I will second the recommendation for grapevinehill.  Great communication and quick shipping to boot.  Shoes were fairly cheap as well (Mezlan oxfords for $46).

I've had a very good experience with many of those listed, but in addition with one named armyhardhat. He's been very responsive to e-mails and gave me a full refund on an item that was not described accurately. The only caveat is that you need to know your clothing as he's not especially keen on descriptions.
