Australian page show different prices then US yoox or am i seeing things...

Sample sale on British UK pops up with no worries. But all the sweet stuff is gone, not that there was much, though.

+1 on wtf about Canada... Also, there's a particular item I've had bookmarked for months now, it was from the Winter selection and it eventually got discounted by an additional 20%, but then they took it off the site -- it was removed from my dream box, it doesn't show up in the general merchandise or even in this new sample sale (regardless of country selected) .... yet the page I bookmarked still shows it in stock at the -20% price. I was expecting it to appear in the sample sale at an even lower price, but if that isn't the case, what should I think? Do they add more items to the sample sale as time passes? In response to someone who posted above, yes, both prices and inventories vary (sometimes minutely, sometimes wildly) by shipping destination. Yoox is completely unapologetic about this, even though it makes no sense. (For instance, there is a sweater that's CAD$550 on the Canadian site and USD$490 on the US site, even though the Canadian dollar is higher than the US dollar right now.)

I am really impressed. I could only check the sale 7 hours after receiving the email from Yoox and 80% of the stuff is gone. Some great deals and much junk from previous 2 seasons. I wonder how much stuff will be flipped on ebay.

Somebody said YOOX sends around advance invitations for "special" customers (those who buy at lot, those who are members of certain internet clubs etc.) ahead of the emails for the simple follk. That might explain why most of the good stuff was gone so fast. And the sample sale in the US doesn't even officially start until tomorrow! I had bookmarked a jacket almost a year ago that I wanted and they now actually marked it down to 10% (59,--) of the already once marked down YOOX price (590,--!!!!) and I was online 30 minutes after the email arrived - but it was already gone (could not be added anymore to the basket but was still visible with the new price). Grrrrhhhh. But interestingly none of the other stuff of the same brand that I had bookmarked is part of the sample sale. I guess that they can move stuff for a while from previous seasons over to the next season, but there comes a time when their warehouse explodes, no? Or is even YOOX - as an off-price retailer - able to return unsold merchandise to the manufacturer eventually? I'll be interested to see what will happen with the already marked down fall-winter stuff that I bookmarked that does not appear in either the sample sale or the regular (spring-summer) section right now, but could still be bought if you happen to have the bookmark link. Or maybe simply not everything that happens with the markdowns is planned in detail by them (with regard to the tons of merchandise they offer). Also, the selection varies in part tremendously between the European and North American country sites. But that must have to do with the fact that they buy up past season stuff locally. Armani is an example. By the way, I saw "Mani by Armani" stuff for women --- that diffusion line was discontinued for women 12 years ago, if I remember correctly....

Another weird one - a blazer I kinda like was available then "sold out" a few months ago but now is available again in the sale? Also using the UK link vs US link have totally different items! Bizarre.

I bought an item from Yoox that was the last one when I bought it. I happen to check online while I had the last item and it was listed as sold-out. I ended up returning it and, voila!, about a week later it was available.

Because they also have a distribution center / warehouse in New Jersey and when they buy up old merchandise from Barneys New York or Giorgio Armani Corporation (US subsidiary) then maybe they don't want to ship it to their European customers. Even though they have a worldwide shipping agreement with UPS (and will ship merchandise from their Italian warehouse to the US - which when returned by US customers seems to re-appear for sale only on the US web site).

Yup. I wonder about how thoroughly they check returns, too -- I received a blazer once that was missing a button.
