Alpha Omega Total Liquidation!

During my lunch break I stopped by the flagship Alpha Omega at Harvard Square to check out the sale. Below are the % discounts I remember, but keep in mind that the original price of each was possibly marked up, so I'm not sure about the "value" you are getting. If I knew more about watches I might be able to tell you, but unfortunately I don't
. This is especially true for the jewlery, in case you were interested for your special lady friends.
Cheaper watches (Swatch, Citizen, etc on the first floor): 10-15% off
Bulgari, Rolex, and Perani (spelled completely wrong, but the makers of the expensive small clocks, and I think I saw one a recent purchase thread...): 10-15% off
Omega, Tag, and mostly everything else: 20% off
Longines and another brand I forgot: 30% off
I suggest stopping by to browse, as I overhead one exasperated saleswoman tell another that it's not easy for them to look up random model numbers and see if an Alpha Omega has one. Lastly, my understanding is that the sale will be in a graduated format, so that the % discounts increase as time goes by, but a salesman couldn't confirm when they would start increasing the discounts (weekly, etc.).
I think I need to do some reading up on watches, as I am debating whether it would be worth buying one of the Longines I liked...

Alpha Omega had a very good reputation. Too bad they are closing. I though would be somewhat skeptical on this "closing because of court order". The current discounts do not seem like fire sale prices to me. Generally, courts do
not order private business to close.
If anyone has more details on this liquidation, it would be appreciated as I may
be in the market for yet another watch.
Recently, a well known jewelry store in my hometown closed. They said they
"lost our lease" and therefore was forced to close. My friend owned the shopping center and the jewelry store chose not to renew the lease.
They ran that "Lost our Lease" sale for over a year! People we grabbing up the merchandise at 20% off because of the banners in the windows announcing "store closing"!

I agree that the "court ordered liquidation" is a big sales ploy, and they are really hyping it up. I believe they ran a full page ad for the sale in a local paper. My understanding, which might be totally wrong, is that the group that bought them wants to sell everything off. It was pretty crowded today, so the "sale" seems to be working so far, but I hope that in a few weeks there will be some actual deals.
