$20 toothpaste

So I bought this really expensive toothpaste from this French cosmetics company Darphin...

It comes in an old style metallic tube. Before I was using Rembrandt which was fine... it's only toothpaste... anyways, have any of you heard of this brand and if it's even approved by the FDA? It's sold on all these sites that sell overpriced shit to put on your face...

It feels different than any other toothpaste I've tried. It has a much milder, fresh taste, but for a minute after there was like... a very faint anesthetic quality to it... kinda weird.

I don't know if I like it yet.

I like Darphin's skincare products, which are known for their whitening tendencies.

The most expensive toothpaste I've bought was Marvis, which also comes in an old-fashioned tube.

The most expensive toothpase I ever bought was for $4 (one tube).

I told myself I was a flippin' idiot. The fact of the matter is, I don't think toothpaste quality goes any higher than "complete" or "total".

Maybe that's just me. But if I'm literally paying 10x the price, I'd want something like 10x the quality. Or maybe even 5x. Or 2x.

mmmm, Marvis. bought some in a pharmacy in Paris and loved it. Simple but nicely-flavored. Will buy more next time I'm across the pond.

why the fuck did you spend $20 on toothpaste without knowing if you would like it? what possible benifit did you think you would get from this toothpaste that was worth this?

I personally like Davines toothpaste, although I have no idea how much it costs, it has a really natural taste and doesn't have the petrol byproducts that you usually find in most skin care and cosmetic products.

I like to take care of my teeth, it looked like it might be good. I'm not hard up for $20 (luckily it cost $15 on the website where I also order my hair product and shampoo, but on every other site it was $20). This is like getting mad at someone for trying a sandwich they've never had before or a pizza topping without knowing if they'd like it.

Check your logic Saba.

I've used it twice now and I do like it better. It said on the website that it has a many more natural ingredients, and that certainly is true. It doesn't foam up and taste really chemical like all the other ones.

I use something called paradontax, by far the best tooth paste I have ever encountered, tastes funny at first, but really is great for the gums. my wife's dentist suggested it to her, a while back. but if it were $20, or if I just read about it or saw the packaging, I wouldn't have bought it. so, I was actually curious.


by the way, off topic, but if I am correct you are a pretty young proffetional musician, right? it is very impressive that you can afford the lifestyle you have at this point in your career, if that is your primary source of income.

I don't really fall too much for advertising, I just try many things. Darphin was reknown for making great natural products, and one thing I couldn't stand was this chemical film left in your mouth after brushing. These toothpastes would dry out your mouth and that actually contributes to this weird breath that I can't stand. I read the label on the website and it stresses more natural ingredients than synthetic, and it definately proved that when it arrived. It's much better.

Uh, buying $20 toothpaste doesn't mean someone is living a rich lifestyle. Anyways, to share an anecdote, I once bought a tube of that fancy and expensive organic stuff from Tom's of Maine. The stuff was damn disgusting and I never used it more than once.

Natural orange juice, I understand. Natural veggies, I understand. They can be found from nature. Natural toothpaste, though...

...might as well go search in nature for a natural hair dye. Then go buy some natural cosmetics for your girlfriend. Maybe even grab a natural computer while you're at it.

You're really smart.

It says it's less chemical. I couldn't give a fuck about organic bullshit, but most normal toothpaste tastes disgustingly chemical and this shit doesn't. If you compare the ingredients in Denblan with regular store brands, there are more natural ingredients. Rembrandt is better than stuff like Crest as well.
