Sweet imaginary baby Jesus

It's like flesh eating SARS fucked superAIDS, came inside me, and I got pregnantly infected. Retard Dr. at work just threw some Zythromax at me (which almost made me puke and turned me green all day, but hasn't made me feel any better) as well as some Zyrtec as a "decongestant", which is bullshit because it's a non-drowsy anti-histamine, read, doesn't do shit, just because he had some samples lying around. I was up until 4 because I couldn't sleep and 3 hours later I can't get back to sleep, and I have a full day of clients ahead of me whom I'd like to cancel on, but haven't accrued the sick time yet (since I used it all up yesterday).

Sounds great!

Ok, I know. I am recovering from whatever my wife had last week. Head feels top-heavy and clogged.

You could always tell the clients that if they don't leave you alone you'll cough on them

The perfect excuse to binge on coffee. Or carb up.

Sinucleanse and Dayquil works for me. Sinucleanse in the morning and carry the Dayquil around all day, sipping on it.

I'm not sure if I should continue taking the antibiotics here... He never took a throat culture and I don't believe it's really bacterial, but he just said from the sound of my symptoms that it was likely bacterial, then gave me the Z-pack. I don't feel any better yet.

If you've already started taking the antibiotics, please finish the full course to be sure you've killed off all the little buggers that got a taste of your z-pack. If any survive, they'll pass on their antibiotic resistance to their offspring.

Why would you use Jesus' name in your post?

If it's viral, Zithromax will not help. If it's bacterial, it may help, but not in just one day. There is risk of developing resistance if you have a bacterial infection and don't finish the Z-Pack, but if you are intolerant to Zitromax, I wouldn't continue with it. I can't take most macrolides (GI upset), but I've never had a problem with that one. Erythromycin makes me sick from one dose to the next; I refuse to ever take it again.

When it comes to taking antihistamines and decongestants for colds, they give symptomatic relief only. They do not shorten the coarse of the illness at all. I personally hate systemic decongestants; I feel worse on them than without. I do use nasal decongestant sprays sometimes if I can't breath through my nose.
