I Need a Better Fridge

Here is the fridge I currently have:

I hate it because I can't make food in bulk and eat leftovers. My neighbors all have the same one and it is just too small. I live in a 250 sq ft studio, so it is nice and cozy.

I want a compact, but much larger fridge to fit in that space. Anyone have any suggestions where I can tell my landlord to look?

Damn! That's like a bar fridge. i guess you can forget about the sub-zero given your 250 sf place. For basement apartments, I have purchased smaller top-mount refrigerators that are 23" wide, which is about as small as they come. Tell your landlord to go to any appliance store and they should have them. Or better yet, find a cheap one on craigslist and buy it for him or tell him to buy it.

250 sf?? Holy moly.. how about a chest fridge and you can lay your mattress on top of it?

what the hell is the cage thingy on top of the fridge? Do you keep vermin in your kitchen?

I had to buy a fridge right when I moved into my new apartment because the old one broke. Being in NYC, I looked at all the small fridges. There's not a lot out there, unfortunately. If you can, go with counter depth.

A bigger pad would certainly help matters.

However, have you looked at store-type coolers with the glass fronts? Check your local restaurant supply stores for used models. They're not cheap, but probably better-built than your average mini-fridge. Storage space abounds. Not sure about being able to freeze anything, but you may luck into other options there.

Can a mod change the thread title to I need a bigger apartment?

I would get 2 of the same model and stack them if I were you. Move the rodent to another location.

Roomate in question appears to be reptilian.

They are my leopard geckos. There is no other place for them. I should probably find them a new home since all i do is drop some mealworms in there every week or so. They served as a good ice breaker in college for chicks that would come over.

Also, the fridge isn't in my kitchen, it is just outside the kitchen in my reading room.

I've thought about stacking them, however I'd need to make some sort of shelf to put it on since the top of the fridge isn't completely flat.

I like the smaller place sometimes because it forces me to not be a packrat. I have gotten rid of like 60% of my belongings since living there and soon I'll be getting rid of even more. My closet is only about 3ft wide and I can fit everything but my suits and coats in there with room to spare.
