I thought boot cut jeans were originally wide and straight legged to more easily fit over pull up cowboy boots? Those look like slim/skinny jeans?

Yeah, that was my (probably unclear) point. Boot cut jeans are wide and thus fall easily over boots. When the legs are narrower they are more likely to bunch up at the top of the boots.

I'm 5'7".  Is 877 too tall for my height?  McQueen was only 5'9"ish.

Absolutely not. I'm 5'8" and never have thought that when wearing them.

If you live anywhere with a wet fall buy the 877s over the 875s, the extra height is really nice.

I also suggest water-proofing them, they'll darken but disregard that.

Do you tuck your pants into the boots?

I'm in SoCal and an urban dweller.  Is 875 a more practical choice?

I have never tucked my jeans/pants into mine. But I don't ride motorcycles that often, nor do I wade through water and/or deep mud often either...

And the 877 or 875, that's more of a matter of preference really. I like the look of the 877 a lot more personally. It's a timeless look and really supportive and the ankles. Buuut the 875 will be easier to get on and off and also a bit cooler temperature wise.

What do you guys think of the RW's Nordstron Exclusive?  Ideally I'd pick up the 1907's but Nordstrom is doing a sale right now so the price is very attractive on these.

What RW model is this?  It doesn't say on the Nordstrom site.

It's hard to get the # bc they are a new exclusive to Nordstrom. It won't be any on the red wing site. Like what they do for jcrew and brooks brothers. But they are just the 875s in bourbon yuma like color, so pretty sweet. I'm digging the beige blacksmiths on there a lot, those would look great after a few darkenings from mink oil.. Really unique color from what red wing normally does

It's the 8880 Bourbon Yuma. I picked up a pair yesterday. Leather is very nice in person, definitely recommend for the price right now.

Yep, I went to the store and saw that they were the 8880.  Just picked them up yesterday.  Man the leather is thick.

Too hot for wearing in the summer?

Yes, too hot to wear during summer.  I live in Alaska so this will be my boots for this upcoming winter :).

Question. What's the difference between Boot Oil and Mink Oil? I ordered these Nordstrom Exclusive Red Wings in the Bourbon Yuma leather and online it says to apply mink oil on this specific leather. I don't have mink oil but I do have boot oil. I use boot oil on my 3141 chukkas and I'd like to know if I could use boot oil on these too. Thanks!
