Yep basically. They are out of stock everywhere. I was actually looking for these 8128s when I found the good deal on my Beckmans.

Do your muleskinner uppers get a lot of stains being in your line of work? I used to work as a line cook in a mexican restaurant and I'd never wear my best shoes because of all the oil and food that gets dropped on them. Back then I'd wear my worse pair of basketball shoes or what not and have to trash them every few months.

Especially if steel toe and other specs are mandatory at your job. That being said, I wear my mule skin iron rangers to work every day instead of kitchen shoes lol. I'm a chef that oversees 2 restaurants with a 3rd in the works. I just refuse to wear the silly restaurant pants, shoes & chef coat. But, that's just me. It's not about looking cool really, I just want to wear what I feel comfortable in. I am re-soling my boots with a slip resistant outsole though!

Well, they are 5+ years old and have been treated with quality mink oil dozens and dozens of times so they are very dark now anyway. Easy to wipe clean too. And when my Irish wolfhound was a puppy she ate half of the right boot, so they are not my top notch pair of boots in the least. But, I am not on the line during during most rushes. I'm expo-ing the food in the window and dealing with fussy guests...

I'm off on Mondays luckily! Here's the pair I wear to work. And my puppy, who munched on them years ago, who isn't much of a puppy anymore lol

Mink oil is good for these? Got some thinking i could use it on my saint laurent boots or maybe jackets but then saw a ton of people saying absolutely not, then i read on the package do not use on fine leathers, these are pretty rugged though

Well, I wouldn't suggest using mink oil on the mule skinner leather because they will darken them and never look the same. I'd recommend Bickmore no.4 or Shinola neutral cream. Or whatever red wing suggests on their site. I use it on these because 3 years ago I took them into a rw store for an oiling and an employee made a mistake and put mink oil on them and permanently darkened them. So now I just put mink oil on them for 'water proofing' and upkeep

They are Red Wing 877s. If you happened to need wide or narrow or different left and right sizes, 10877s are very similar...

Do 877s run narrow?

Mine don't feel narrow.

No, they fit pretty true to size. Many people go down a half size, but I actually don't think that's necessary. You can get 10877 in many different widths, if your feet are not a normal width.

Not a fan of hiking up or double cuffing jeans to show off your boots.

hard to tell, but it looks like his pants come down farther on the right, and the left has just bunched in the way that pants with relatively narrow leg openings tend to do. There's a reason a thing called "boot cut jeans" was invented.
