i'm a US 12 in most things these days - should i size down to a 11.5 for rw 875 or stay tts? my feet are fairly wide as well.

if anyone knows a retailer who sell them in black and will ship to australia please let me know.

If you're reasonably wide footed I'd stick to TTS. You might get away with going down 0.5, but I've never been able to (had to size up on some RW's just to get width)

I am debating between these two (Charcoal Blacksmiths and Black Foreman Chuka).

Which ones should I go for?

I currently own Iron Ranger Amber Harness and  RoughNecks Olive

I recently found two pairs of Red Wing Heritage 1907 one pair of 8138 and one 1907 at my local Platos closet. Both pair are in excellent condition, but not my size; 8.5D and 10D. If anyone has an unwanted pair, size 9D or 9.5D, I would be interested in a trade.

8138 Size 10D on left ............. 1907 size 8.5D on right

I really like the charcoal rough and tough IRs and Engineers.  I actually tried on Engineers before buying my IRs and liked the way they fit, just liked the IRs and Brogue Rangers look a little more.

And I agree with linafelt, I'm not big into chukkas either.  I say get either the charcoal Engineers or IRs.

Just got my first pair of Red Wing Moc Toe 8130 in 9.5D.  They do fit snug on the sides but length is good.  Very comfortable boots and nothing like many posted about breaking them in.  They feel great with hiking merino wool socks.

I have 2 other pair of Wolverine 1K's and the biggest difference is how much softer the 1K's are vs. these Moc Toe boots.  Other than that I sized a whole size down on all of them vs. my sneakers.

Best,

bigC

Yeah not a fan of chukkas in general. I own black engineers and they are so bitching, definitely suggest getting a pair. I wear them with black Baldwin jeans, white tshirt and my Belstaff panther leather jacket. Its a timeless look.

Ive tried on wolverine 1ks before and for the price I wasnt super impressed honestly. Not that it means anything but just the weight of them compared to iron rangers alone makes me feel like Im getting less, if you know what I mean? Eventually, Ill own a pair of 1k I imagine

Its funny you mention that because the first thing I did when these RED Wing Moc toes came in was weight them vs. my Wolverine 1K's....lol

Yup, the Red Wing Moc toe is heavier and very noticeable too.

I just bought a pair from nordstrom rack today. Bitter chocolate iron rangers, which were exclusive to jcrew if I remember right, for like $140. Im worried they''ll be too similar in color to a pair i already have, if so I'll send them back..I love red wings but I have to be practical damnit lol

Wolverines and Chippewas both are much lighter. It's weird.

Got these yesterday from Nordstrom rack for $170 off and free shipping! It's strange bc they are from jcrew, and all the other 4584 models I've seen pics of haven't had the new subtle commando vibram outsoles. They're beautiful boots buuuut I feel like they maybe too much like my 8111s, so I'm debating returning them.. Anyone else agree/disagree?
