They didn't have the wider widths available though or I imagine the 8EE's would also have worked. The 8.5D's also allow me to get away with thicker socks for the upcoming winter. I could have done it in the 8D's, but it was too umcomfortable from jump and I picturted them staying that way even after a break in period.
Sorry I didn't see this before. Yup, I got my chukkas and sized a half down from my Purcells (or "usual" shoe size in most brands) and they fit perfectly.

Good to know.

I wear an 11 in most sneakers, and just bought the Wabasha Chukka in 10.5.

Great thread. I found it on google when looking for red wings sizing options.

I've purchased 3 pairs of red wings in the past year (j.crew rugged classics, classic lifestyles from uo, and one other one pair from piperlime). I haven't been able to nail my size down. I'm about to reorder the jcrew rugged classics in a 9.5. I started with a 10.5 then went to 10 and am now at 9.5.

The 10s fit ok but felt and looked clunky on my feet. I'm going to get the 9.5s and stick with them to see if breaking them in helps.

My shoe size references:

Clarks DB 9.5
Converse 9.5
Vans 10 (with socks) 9.5 (summertime no socks)
AE Park Avenue 9.5
New Balance Classics 10
Adidas Rod Laver 10.5

pulled the trigger on a pair from the RWI collection -- yes, i know they're not "as durable," as the USA-made versions -- but they fit the needs of posers like myself. and they were cheap.

What size did you go with? And what do you normally wear? Thanks

I'm just hoping they fit. They were released last Thursday, and are already sold out of most sizes.

i wear between at 8-8.5, went with an 8. tried on 8.5s in the regular workboots and they were definitely too big.

LOVE the color on those, definitely the better of the two. it has too many eyeholes for what i was looking for though.

People looking for hard to find RW's should REALLY just GO TO YOUR LOCAL RW STORE. These boots are common as dirt and there is a local dealer in every major and minor city in America. I spoke to my local dealer and he can oder any model in any size, made in Japan, made in America, anything (except maybe some of the colabs, like the ronnie Z). And he helped me figure out my sizing. And his prices were really good. And I could return any shoe I ordered for a full refund.

Really, go to an authorized RW dealer, the price and selection is better than any website going.

I should have hopped on to the grey 875's from last year.

The navy ones from this year are pretty nice too along with the redish colored 8 inch.
