1907 gets the most love.

They fit somewhat differently.  You should get the one that fits you better.  The aesthetic differences aren't that big.  I feel the welt stitching on the 875 appears a little more authentic.  Do people know if the extra row of stitching on the 1907 is functional or just for looks?  I really don't know.  Also, the 875 is the classic...

Jon

It's a Norwegian welt, and on the 1907, it appears functional (waterproofing).

Is the copper leather on the 1907 moc toes better than the other moc toe boots? Why is it more expensive?

45 last vs. 23 last? AFAIK the 1907 is the only boot on the 45 last that's not limited edition.

Red Wing's own websitr describes it as "Norwegian-like," which made me question if it was a real Norwegian welt and whether it was functional. Though sales people aren't always right, one of them in a Red Wing store said ot was just for looks. Short of solid evidence that it is functional, I have my doubts.

Have had 2 pairs over 3 years and they held up better than my 875s or 8119s. Functional? No it immediately disintegrates on the first wearing. Bummer.

Maybe it's just for looks, then. It's also on the Icecutter boots. The welt does wrap around vertically over the upper. It's not just an extra row of stitching.

You HAVE to put up some pictures a year from now when that Klondike leather has started to fade away and the warmer bronze color shows thru. I really wish the 23 last fit my foot better cause I really wanted to get a pair of these. It's funny cause RW issued out their "limited editions" at the start of this year and this collab with General Quarters is better than all of those combined with the exception of the Huntmens which are a 8 inch version of these somewhat.

Sazon: Those look great. Congrats!

Also, more proof that non-North American markets get all the good stuff. Check out these new Red Wing monkey boots from RW Taiwan:

i have a pair of these monkey boots - if they fit my feet better i´d consider putting on some other soles..

I have been eyeing those Monkey boots for a while - GORGEOUS!
I wonder how they fit! I take a 91/2 in the chukka and 9 in everything else

How can those of us in North America cop a pair?
I am really getting tired of RW releasing such great shoes overseas when those of us who live in the States cannot get our hands on them. The damn shoes are made here!

Just wondering if anyone has the Blacksmiths and if they are somewhat the same sizing as the IR, My sizing in a regular shoe is a 9.5 and a dress shoe is a 9, I have read to go down a full size in the Blacksmiths from my dress shoe size. I do have to wear a orthotic foot bed in my shoes so I figure an 8.5 would be good in the Blacksmiths, full size down from my normal size and only a half size down from my dress.
