Trying to pick up the 9030 on Amazon ... Anybody have success using discount codes on Red Wing boots on the site?

Can anyone tell me about the Red Wing Postman 101s? I'm not interested in the high shine version. I just want to know what the leather is like compared to Loakes, Church's, C&Js, Carmina's etc. I'd like to give them a nice mirror shine, but I definitely don't want patent leather.

Link to high shine version? I thought they only had black chapperal or however its spelled for oxford

i believe it's called the high shine on mr porter, but that's not the name

the material is black chaparral, really a nice matte black leather. however, if you polish, they will have a nice shine (but not blindingly so like patent leather.)

the first week i broke them in the creases looked terrible, but after a good polish on sunday they looked better than they did new.

It will shine up with wax but for me at least if i wear them after the shine it lasts 8hrs out of the 12hrs i wear them. It just goes back to non shiny black.

Ill let you know if i can get a real shine to last but mind you i wear my pair hard they are my work shoes.

kinda dusty, i wore these for a couple days after i polished. when i first got them the creases were kind of a grey colour but the black coat of the polish fixed them up. keep in mind this leather is super tough, i wore them everyday for a week before they were nice to move around in haha

Yea took me about 6 days of 12hrs straight now its the most comfortable to wear all day. I have aldens i owned longer and wore still not as comfortable as these.

This is talking when wearing at least 3hrs on your feet not a desk job.

Also ricesuit you call that creases? Thats not that bad mine is a lot worse lol. The toe profile on mine also is a lot more pointer looking now.

Can anyone comment on the traction sole on the 875s? More curious about how it holds up in the winter time in the snow and on ice. Any thoughts appreciated!

Thanks!

Slippery…you might better consider the 8147 or similar with the Vibram sole!
