Red Wing Boots - Your Opinion - Page 123

lots of pics of them on google if you search "red wing postman 101"

i can't wait til it does get creased actually, a lot of the nicer pics i've seen are the pairs that have been worn well

as for the colour, of course you can put shine on it if you like.

Had my 875s for nearly 4 months and have been wearing them daily but I still get pain in the back of my right ankle. I suspect it's because I do a lot of driving in these boots. Any suggestions on what can help? The boots are completely broken in save this one issue.

I bought some Beckman chukkas a few weeks ago after love at first sight, but I'm a little concerned about the wrinkling in the leather. I've looked at pictures of other worn/broken-in Beckmans and haven't seen anything to this extent. I've used shoe trees and done two applications of RW shoe cream about a week apart in hopes that it would help "heal" the leather, but it hasn't helped. Am I being too picky?

^ I think you're being too picky. That's pretty much the natural progression of leather that's being constantly creased by the very act of walking.

Embrace it! I think they look great, and I kinda wish mine would get a little more like that. They still feel too new to me...

Thanks for the feedback! I do really love these boots, so I'm happy to keep them and let them develop some character. I've already put quite a few miles on them and will continue to do so.

They are nice looking chukkas for sure. Keep up the shoe tree use. That makes a big difference over time.

Do the Beckman require shoe trees and can I wear them everyday? It feels like they require less care since they're work boots but I did pay quite a bit for them.

No shoe requires them, but most all-leather shoes or boots (maybe not sneakers...) will benefit from them. Holds the shape and absorbs moisture (the true shoe killer). Wear them hard, take care of them.

My Beckman's looked very similar. Don't worry about it; they look awesome!

Hey guys, I'm about to cop some RedWing 875s of Need Supply Co. Just concerned about sizing. I know I'm an 8.5 F UK in church's. I have a narrow foot, what should I go for?

Cheers

Adam

How much toe room is too much? My 4473s are on the 522 last, and have lots of toe room (1" at big toe... I think I had issues with toes getting squeezed when I sized down 0.5), but are comfortable even when walking in them all day. I'm considering getting a pair of 214s from the heritage collection in the same size, which is on the 23 last. I think it is sized similarly.

If I wear a 9-9.5 shoe, what size would I be best ordering in the Iron Ranger? No stockists around where I live.

How would the Washaba boot be in ice and snow?
