Many have discussed this. Black (in shoes and suits) is commonly mistaken to be the most formal and desired of colors. In reality other colors, like brown and walnut, are more versatile and therefore a more ideal option.

Dope pics man, thanks. I'm guessing you probably haven't worn them in any sort of ice/snow yet tho? They look awesome but I do wonder how they perform when it's -25 and I'm walking through 2 feet of white...

If you're referring to these, be forewarned that they're much more of an orange/red than they are tan.

Is this like an official thread (or should we make one?)

Anyways, figured I would show some of my RWs. I love the made in minnesota gear

Ignore the stupid clarks. Beckmans in Cherry, IRs in Amber, Plain toe Boomers, Captain Stabbin, Chukka briar oil slick

4572

The old and new Chukkas. A late 80's early 90's (most likely the 90's production time) chukka and the new model briar oil slick

I have a couple other pairs I do not have pictures of

Why can't the iron rangers go on sale?
Anyone have any experience with the engineer 2991's? I assume they are on the same last as the IR. And anyone with pictures of em resoled please post!

Sent my 213s in for resoling - they'll get a roccia outsole for the winter in Boston. For those with beckmans - do they have enough traction?
Are the Beckmans narrower than the Iron Rangers? My feet kind of bulge out of the sides of my IR's, but not to the point of being uncomfortable.

I get plenty of traction with Beckmans in the winter. I wore the 9010 as my main non-blizzard boot last year.

The Beckmans: I wouldn't say they are more narrow though, just equal in width. My foot overhangs about equal on each.

EDIT: The moc toe beckmans are on the 23 last (see my reference above) and the plain toe are on the 8 last which is the same as the IR so sizing should be the same for plain toe.

Thanks for the heads up picked up two pairs
post #1814 of 2734

i ordered in a pair of postman 101s (the oxfords) and i'm gonna pick them up today at a local red wings

anyone have experience with these/the chukkas? worried they'll be slippery-- i've seen a lot of people put vibram soles on them. just wondering if i should do the same

i'm usually a size 9.5 for most brands, but for my iron rangers and postmans i'm a 9D if anyone is on the fence about sizing.
