Bud, I wear a 9.5, in nike free run shoes and do a 9 in iron rangers. With an insole they are perfect. If you have a narrowish foot try the insole.

For my personal experience on Iron Ranger, its good to have a more loose fit so you can wear thick socks or extra insole cause i find them not that comfy to wear. My US8.5D was snug fit,so i wear them with thin socks my feet hurts like hell. but i can't even insert an extra insole cause its already snug.i'm gonna get like a shoe expander something like that.. it doesnt hurt if the shoe is 0.5 bigger.

Trying to nail down my autumn/winter boots and had a question about people's experience with the 875s and winter use - how's the grip on icy sidewalks? Also, how do the vibram soles hold up to cold temps? No cracking or anything like that right?

I had a chance to check 9 IR and 8.5 Beckman. IR boot was too loose. 8.5 Beckman is really snug/small, and Im going to return/exchange them too.

I always use an insole (an orthopedic insert). This was used when I was trying the boots on and I wear all my sneakers with it in as well.

Another thing is that I don't want the shoes to be too long because then it looks strange (my legs are very thin).

yeah me too,if its too long its gonna look like a clown feet.lol.

i'm also suffering a runners heel for my right foot, gonna need to find an insole or just a heel absorber something like that.

Anyone have any experience with Canadian retailers, esp. in Toronto? Wouldn't mind an Iron Ranger, but hesitant because of sizing and winter grip on ice and snow.

Has anyone tried the new Red Wing Ice Cutter yet?

I´ve seen them at a few internet stores, but no reviews.

I've got a pair coming that are due in the next 2 weeks. Will post thoughts when they arrive. Where have you seen them for sale?

Red Wings are good boots but I've always found Timberland more comfortable with a bit of a gangsta edge. The Ek Rugged 6 Moc Toe is a nice boot that is not douchey but still stylin. Almost same colours and shape as the Red Wing 875s. Don't know if you can get delivery from UK where you are, but they are on sale over here.

bl@ster looking forward to your thoughts on those once they land and you get a chance to evaluate them. I really don't need any more boots LOL but those Ice Cutter boots look like they would be perfect winter boots and hard for me to resist. They are on the #8 last same as the Beckman which isn't my favorite last, but they work.

I used to wear Vasque Sundowners for years then a bit more than 10 years ago I purchased another pair and the soles delaminated in just a few months. Found out Red Wing who owns Vasque moved production from Italy to China. I swore off RW cussing them for destroying one of the best hiking boots ever made. Then broke down last summer and bought a pair of Black Cherry Beckmans. Red Wing is about 40 miles to the NE of me and Christmas eve I ran to the grocery store at the last minute to get a few things. Like everyone else we were all in a hurry to finish before the store closed and I bumped into a lady pushing her cart with mine. She had a Red Wing shoes hoodie on and was looking down at my Beckmans. I apologized and she didn't say a word but kept looking down at my feet. As she was walking away I heard her say to her young daughter of about 12 or so "I made those boots". I turned around and the look on her daughters face pretty much made my Christmas. I have no problem getting another pair of Red Wings.

Looks beautiful.  Can you explain (or link) what Yuma leather is?  This color looks similar to the now discontinued "Chestnut," but it almost looks like nubuck/roughout.  I'd love to hear more about the leather.
