Ahhh tobi has briar oil slick w black vibram lug sole...

Not sure if i wanna get that, or the crepe wedge sole boot.

I'm not so sure i like the look of the light colored crepe sole... and i read everywhere they wear down super fast and you have to get them re-soled like every year. :/

Opinions?

I've read that the crepe soles wear down quicker if used exclusively in an urban environment (concrete). I had some I used for outdoor work years ago...they held up well. They were a ***** to break in if I remember correctly, though.

Not to be stupid, but what does NOS stand for?

Probably the regular sole found on the 875 or 877 - Can't remember the name.

I have a pair of Yuketen engineer boots that have black Vibram soles, so you could possibly have a cobler - or Red Wing maybe - resole your shoes/boots with a thick black Vibram sole. It sounds a bit off to me that you would want that colour combination, but do go ahead and remember to post some pics.

Sent off the boots about a week and a half to two weeks ago and just received them in the mail today, new pair of boots... absolutely nothing wrong with them. Sweet!

Pic of my redwings after 3 months of wear. I put mink oil on them quite a bit so you can see the dark areas vs the wear areas well.

I received the Moc Toe w black lug sole today... they look a lil funny to me. I have smaller feet - 8.5 and these are both very bulbous and narrow and the vibram sole makes them very tall, not sure if i am going to keep them or not. :/
