Probably. I'm also looking at their new offerings. Iron Ranger is now available in "Copper Rough & Tough", possibly Red Wing's softest leather icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif I have a pair of Red Wing JCrew boots in this leather, they are so soft and comfortable that requires no break-in at all. Kind of like Horween Chromexcel but thicker, and, well.. more rough.

Lol, the tldr versions is soak the cloth you use to swirl on polish vs dabbing water droplets. Worked like a charm.

I'm going to develop onset arthritis in my rotator cuff from all this buffin'.

Seams almost pointless considering how close it looks to Amber Harness leather. Wish they'd used a leather color that was more different....

Got a reply from RW Customer Svc:

Apparently the 8131 and shoes with this type of leather is now a "International Model" and thus no more being sold in the US.

Very strange move i think.

Glad i got mine. But man is the leather HARD !

Is the type of leather used on the 8131 used on other models?
