Prince is one of the best artists to come out of the 80's. Sign O' the Times is one of my favorite albums. His new stuff is terrible.

What's there not to like about Prince? 1999, Purple Rain, Around the World in a Day, and the mentioned Sign O' The Times are absolute classics! He also inspired a genre of musicians like Morris Day & The Time, Sheila E., Apollonia, Vanity, Wendy & Lisa... and brought the gheri curl to the mainstream too! And apparently he's a great ball player

Prince is a great musician, a fantastic performer and always surrounds himself with hot "Princesses".

man, I love Prince. Haven't cared to check for any of the new stuff, but we'll always have Dirty Mind, Purple Rain and Sign O The Times

No. Prince is a great songwriter/guitarist.
Having this Prince poster might be gay though:

Prince is one of the few artists who matter to the art of music, not just the business of music (although he's sold a few records as well). Musicology was OK, but you can find truly great songs on every album from For You to the Diamonds and Pearls, which only covers the better part of 20 years. He's worth the bloated price of admission to a show. His band is always tight, the songs are well written and executed, and the little muthafucker plays the hell out of a guitar. The man's music was the soundtrack for most of my late teens to mid twenties.

Prince is what Sly would have been had he been able to keep his game lo those many years ago.

Prince went the bleep off playin guitar at the R&R Hall of Fame induction of George Harrison a few years back. It forced some of us to ask the question "Is he the best living guitarist?"

Along these lines, anyone familiar with Shuggie Otis? His old man, Johnny Otis, was a 60s R&B bandleader. Shuggie was a guitar savant, playing as a paid session guy by the age of 12. Shuggie dropped two albums, the first with the song, Strawberry Letter 23, which Brothers Johnson did a few years later. If you like early Prince, give Shuggie a listen
