All-Season Tires

I'm shopping for tires for my GF's ride, a Lexus IS. Personally, my AMG is on Michelin PS2s, which I believe to be one of the best summer tires out there. Those are ridiculously expensive and she doesn't want to give up winter performance anyway. I'm looking for a cheap but sporty all-season tire for her. Is there a value leader in this category?

Check out Tire Rack

Is that a Renault AMG?

For high value all-season performance tires look at Kumho and Sumitomo.

Thanks,
I'm leaning towards these:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....=Potenza+G+009

If anyone has further comments or other recommendations, please let me know.

Skip the bridgestones off that list. I second the recommendation on Sumitomo.

You should check out the Michelin XGT series. I had Pilot Sport A/S on my old G35 (one of the only high performance tires available in the odd size of the stock rims) and they were pretty good--and remarkably low-wear for the performance grade--tires. XGTs are similar to ther Pilot Sport A/S but a bit cheaper (still on the expensive side).

Kumho Ecsta is probably the best bang for the buck.

Hmm. I have the Ecsta AST on my Celica. I don't like them. At all. Now granted, I went up in width and down in profile from stock but I feel that the AST variant at least are tyres I'll never consider buying again. Have been losing traction more often when accelerating; they don't seem to work too well with my stiffer and lower than stock suspension. Torque steer is more evident too, strangely enough, even though they are 215 width versus my previous 195 width Falken Ziex 512. I have read opinions that the sidewalls are too soft, which may be part of the problem. I usually need to lower the pressure in the back tyres by a few psi to reduce the tendency to oversteer, the car was more neutral with the (narrower!) Falken Ziex 512 I had on it before. While it is mildly entertaining, it is also sort of disconcerting. I don't feel very comfortable driving in the wet, either; they sort of feel like they'll turn around and bite me in the arse at the first chance. The Ecsta ASX are probably better but I don't know. P.s. I ran Yokohama Avid (don't remember which model) on my old Civic. I rather liked them, seemed a good deal.

You need all-season tires in LA? Don't really see the point.

Agreed. Summer tires are better in rain (softer rubber). Stick with lower priced brands and replace more often. If you spend too much you'll hope they last forever..... but they don't.
