Cheap Mondays! I picked one up at Urban Outfitters for $30 and was surprised at their feel and quality of material.

^that is the direct opposite of how I want cords to look.

i'd go for a pair of levi's 559 or 505 cords. they should be easy to find and they're relatively inexpensive.

^^ I was actually looking at 559 cords on ebay, but Im unsure of how the cut really is... high rise? small back pockets? and what about the fabric, cant deal with more than 15% polyester.

Bobo, Resteröds cords are excellent but very slim.

I bought Levis 514 slim straight in three colors; brown, gray and tan. Not bad for everyday wear. $48.

+1, have the same exact pair and IMO they fit much better than their jeans.

according to this site the 559s are 100% cotton. i have a couple of pair that i'll check when i get home this evening to verify.

i noticed you're a fan of the carhartt hamilton pants, as am i. the rise and the fit in general of the 559 is pretty similar to the hamilton although, the legs of the 559s are a bit wider.

as for the pocket size, i don't think they're overly small but if that's a concern, i'd go for a 505 and go up a size.

Gravedigging here...

Cords, yes it´s that season again. So, whats out there? Esp. in the trad-ish direction..

Been digging for cords myself. Here are some things I found, for those not looking to drop a bunch of money:

Cords at the gap are too slim for my taste and are 50% polyester.
Cords at LL Bean fit true to size and can be had for a 30w online (Wasn't available in my local store). 100% cotton if I remember, and a higher rise than the gap. I like the looser fit, because, hey, they're cords.

I'm looking for corduroys of the trouser variety; that is, without traditional 5 pocket styling like jeans. With on-seam or near-seam pockets. Any ideas?

Also, epaulet has some cords on sale for more than 50% off. I've never bought anything from there, but those cords are as close as I've come. (Still thinking about it.)

Personally, im thinking of either Cordings or Orvis "super cords". Have no idea of how the latter fits though. Will also check out these: http://www.countrysports.se/store/products/magee-blue-corduroy-trousers in person.

Anyone have experience with Dockers Corduroys? Good buy at discount? And does any one have experience taking the logo off? A small detail, but the logos bug be. It's much of the reason I buy pants at the gap.
