which companies are offering good cotton cords, in not too slim fits? Looking for something on the heavy side, interested in both 5 pocket styles and traditional cords. Straight leg before tapered fits...

cords!

Ralph Lauren's Rugby line has some nice wide wale slim cords from their F/W collection. I bought a pair about two months ago and have been really happy with them. Much better quality/construction than the PRL Blue Label stuff.

I believe they're on sale right now, but you'd have to call a store location for more info.

I bought a pair from the revamped Helmut Lang that I like. I also, have an older pair from Marc Jacobs collection. However, most of these are fairly mid-weight.
If you want something heavy you would have to go to someone more traditional (i.e. Incotex).

I just bought a pair of Malo cords (traditional trouser-cut) that are fantastic. The fabric is very soft yet heavy. The cut is not super-slim, but definitely not on the baggy side of things, either.

I have a pair of cords from APC that are nice heavy wide wale... and they're not particularly tapered either. I might have them tapered a bit when I have them hemmed.

I have a pair of brown Margiela cords. Very nice fit and well constructed. Got it at Douglas Fir on 3rd Street.

+1 on APC, I have a pair that is relatively a somewhat trim but straight leg fit, which might do the job for you. Mine is a small wave but they offer both styles.

APC had some interesting cords this last F/W 07 season, they were a dark electric blue thin wale cord, which I thought about getting but then wondered when I would ever wear...

I also have a great pair of shiny April77 cords but the saggy top block and stick thin legs are not what Bobo is looking for.

I didn't realize that APC made cords. Do they come in the same cuts as the denim (i.e., can I get NS in corduroy)?

thanks for the answers. Looked for apc cords on ebay, but only found a pair in pink (rose) I wonder if not something like RL might be easier... Still want some 1920s LVC cords ...

Same cut as their "city pants" (their regular dress pants, so fuller in the leg than NS). I do believe they released some that were cut like NS but not entirely sure.

From what I gather through your posts and WAYWT pics, your preference would be towards a long-ish rise and relaxed straight (by SF and sufu standards) legs. RRL makes cords that meet all these criteria. This might also work (limited size/color availability - contact Peasant for stockists' info, may be?). Try Yoox as well.

Yes, APC New Standards were made in corduroy. I was going to get a pair after xmas, but ended up not buying them.

not as fashion forward as what others are recommending, but i really like my Barry Bricken cords from STP. and with their sales combined with the occasional coupon code, you're looking at anywhere from $35-40/pair.
