I have a jean...(The Ultimate Jean Thread For Beginners) - ask questions here. - Page 65

Chronoaug - thanks but my code works on any item. Its not a first time buyers but rather from their 5ep debacle. I was debating nudies or common projects actually! I'm just wodering if the nudie lab is worth the extra price.

The only denim brands Id consider from Revolve are 5EP and KMW. If I was looking for something other than raw indigo (i.e. black, grey coated) then I'd consider Nudie.

Looking at purchasing some nudies, due to the fact I want to try raw denim and they are the only brand I know that I can try on near by before I order it on the internet.

One thing though.... I like my jeans a pretty dark denim, not the light/medium blue colours. How much will they fade? And is there a darker denim option for nudies?

Nudie has darker indigo raw options. For example, in the Slim Jim cut, the Dry Indigo is darker than the dry greycast or dry japan model, but all are raw. They don't hold their indigo that well as they're made to fade quickly, but they'll still be dark for a good while

Also, if you do the manly thing and don't wash them for 6+ months then they'll still be dark, just have the wear marks. The other jeans that are the lighter blues are that way because they have been repeatedly washed to get to the faded state they are currently in. Do Nudies properly and they will provide you with a high contrast fade. Keep in mind that this whole fading business does take a while. Note, there are other brands that are more resistant to fading. I think there is a recent thread about this and RRL denim.

Im 32x34. I own Nudie Slim Jim 32x34 (bought in europe) they fit perfect same as APC NS siezed down 2. I want to buy the Average Joe and Regular Ralf should I size down on them or not?

First post here... i am about to pull the trigger on a pair of APC Rescues... I usually wear Levi's 514 size 33 Dark Indigo and I love how they fit. It's somewhat slim but not too tight for my taste. I am athletically built... 5'9 180 lbs.

I tried on the Rescues at Azalea in SF in size 30... they fit perfect. my question is should I size down to a 29 or a 28? they did not have these sizes in stock.. i would have to order online.

If I size down to a 29, will they be too baggy after they have streched out? I would like to wear the jeans comfortably, but i dont want to have to wear a belt to avoid them riding low on my ass... basically how the 30's fit brand new.

The thing that worries me about the 28's is the crotch/butt/thighs roominess... I know the waist will stretch out but will the rest of the jean stretch out as well? i am planning on wearing these hard since my goal is to get some nice fades/whiskering.

I have read and searched these forums and I know about the waist stretching on APC's, but am unsure if the rest of the jean stretches as dramatically.

thanks for your help guys...

I don't know if the thighs stretch as dramatically as the waist but I'm certain there's some stretch there. I had a pair of 36 rescues. I think they measured 13-13.5 inches across the upper thighs. When I sold them I tagged them at 14 inches across the upper thighs, so yeah, there was a good amount of stretch.

APC thighs will stretch quite dramatically if they need to.

I've seen size down 3 recommended for rescues. I think.

I'd go down two for rescues and one for new standards myself.

Well ya, it depends on what fit you're going for. I go down 2 on NS, and I've seen down 3 look pretty good on some people. My best advice is to search for people wearing rescues sized down 1, 2, and 3 here or on sufu to gauge the stretching.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a size of A.P.C. jeans to pick up as I don't have any retailers that carry the dry denim line in my city.

I did some measuring of my waist and came up with:

44" around at the navel
41" around two inches below the navel

Also measured a tighter pair of jeans I own and have them at an 17.5" - 17 3/4" waist.

I'd appreciate some help picking out from the Rescue or New Standard models as well as I'm not 100% sure which one I'd enjoy more for a first pair of dry denim jeans. To give you an idea, I own some slightly tapered jeans and some straight fit but my favorite fitting jeans (when I did fit in them) were my Seven For All Mankind Havana I jeans (if that tells you anything).

I'm thinking 32 or 33 in either model... Just gotta decide between straight or lightly tapered.....

many suggest sizing one down to start with APC

Hey all, What other pair of jeans would you recommend that are similar in cut/fit to the kmw 2010s and APC Rescues (loose, straight leg)? Looking for black selvege. I was thinking RRDS...
